Sherif Ismail

  • Former Egyptian Oil Minister Sherif Ismail took oath as the new Prime Minister on September 19, 2015 before President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi.
  • It is just a week after the previous Cabinet resigned following a corruption scandal.
  • Along with Sherif Ismail Ministers of his Cabinet also sworn-in which includes 16 new faces and three women.
  • On September 12, 2015 President Sisi accepted resignation of the Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Ibrahim Mehlab, after agriculture Minister Helal was arrested for corruption.

Seema Malhotra/Lisa Nandy

  • Members of British Parliament Seema Malhotra appointed as the Shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury and Lisa Nandy as the Shadow Secretary for energy and climate change in the shadow Cabinet of Jeremy Corbyn, the newly-elected Labour leader on September 14, 2015.
  • Lisa Nandy, an MP from Wigan in Greater Manchester, is the daughter of Indian Marxist Dipak Nandy, who was the founder and first Director of the respected left-wing think-tank, Runnymede Trust.
  • Seema Malhotra was first elected from Feltham and Heston in 2011 in a by-election. She was given the role of a shadow Minister in 2014 for preventing violence against women by the former Labour leader, Ed Miliband.

Malcolm Turnbull

  • A former investment banker and lawyer, Malcolm Turnbull, was sworn-in as Prime Minister of Australia on September 14, 2015. He defeated Tony Abbott former Prime Minister in an party ballot of Liberal Party lawmakers.
  • With this, he became the 29th Prime Minister of the country and 4th Prime Minister since 2013. Labor Party Prime Minister Julia Gillard was ousted by rival Kevin Rudd in a leadership vote in 2013.
  • Tony Abbott became Prime Minister after Liberal Party and its coalition partners the National Party won in general election in September, 2013.

Rakesh Sharma

  • Rakesh Sharma has been appointed as Managing Director and CEO of Canara Bank on September 11, 2015. Earlier, Sharma was the MD and CEO of Lakshmi Vilas Bank since March, 2014.
  • With over three decades of experience in the banking sector, Sharma’s main expertise lies in retail and wholesale banking, trade finance, industrial relations and human resources issues.

Prof. Kumkum Dhar

  • Professor Kumkum Dhar was given additional charge of Vice-Chancellor of Bhatkhande Music Institute deemed university on September 11, 2015. Her appointment was approved by Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik.
  • Professor Kumkum Dhar succeeded incumbent Vice-Chancellor Prof. Shruti Sadolikar Katkar. She is disciple of late Pt. Lachhu Maharaj. She is currently head of the department and dean of the faculty of dance at the institute.

Ramesh Chand

  • Agriculture expert Prof. Ramesh Chand has been appointed as one of the full-time members in the NITI Aayog on September 8, 2015.
  • Noted economist Aravind Panagariya as Vice-Chairman while economist Bibek Debroy and former DRDO Chief VKSaraswat are also full time members.
  • He has been a member of a task force on agriculture development under NITI Aayog which is formulating strategies to give a boost to the agriculture sector.
