Himachal Pradesh is a tourist spot with thousands of people visiting to watch

its wonderful landscapes , flora and fauna. It is a place where one would like

to live life long. But the residents of the state find it hard to survive there

because of lack of career opportunity. Therefore, the youth of the state

migrate to other cities and states in search of jobs and better opportunities.

Instead, with remarkable role of government in developing culture for young

entrepreneur and with good educational facilities and High Literacy rate

available in Himachal it could be a next start up hub in India. Circumstances

doesn’t make a person but it is one’s aspiration and determination that

makes all the difference. And Gaurav Garg, alumni of NIT Hamirpur has

proved it. He has set an example before the people by laying foundation of

Skycandle.in. In short span of just 1 year Skycandle.in has been valued at 3

Million USD. Garg has proved how a person’s approach can make



In recent years, India has developed the culture of online marketing.India.inc

became the capital of Startup hub of the world. With maximum numbers of

engineers, innovator, India.inc has delivered many successful Unicorn

startups. Analysing the scope of online marketing Garg realised how with

little possession he could earn and help in state development. Notably

Skycandle.in was started with a mere investment of 50000 in April 2015.It

has crossed GMV of 1 Million USD in just 11 Months of startup. The

Company hopes to start its IT Wing in himachal in near future. This will help

to reduce the problem of brain drain and younger generation could enjoy with

their family. They don’t need to go out of town in search of work. He believes

that since Himachal is an agricultural based state, enterpreneurship could

help the the farmers connect globally. He thinks that NITians should be job

creators not job seekers.
