Dubai Duty Free Championships 2017

  • Andy Murray wasted no time in securing his 45th our-level crown, dominating the final of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships over Fernando Verdasco on March 5,2017.
  • Murray extended his ruthless run in ATP World Tour 500 events with a 6-3, 6-2 victory in just one hour and 13 minutes. The World No.l, who claimed his first title of the season, has now lifted trophies in four straight 500-level events entered, posting a 19-0 record.
  • Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships is a professional tennis tournament owned and organised by Dubai Duty Free and held annually in Dubai (UAE) on outdoor hard courts.

Vijay Hazare Trophy

  • Tamil Nadu defeated Bengal in Vijay Hazare trophy on March 21. 2017.

  • Bengal lifted the Santosh Trophy for the 32nd time after Manvir Singh struck in the 119th minute for a 1-0 win over Go§, extending their domination in the premier domestic football tournament.
  • Bengal, thus, ended a six-year wait having la s t won the title in 2011. Goa last won it in 2009.
  • Goa, who had hosted the tournament thrice prior to the 2016-17 edition, lost to Bengal in the semifinal in 1972 and the final in 1996, while wen against Kerala in 1990.
