SSC JE Exam Previous Question Papers with Answer

SSC has provided guidelines for recruitment of Junior Engineer(Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Quality and Quantity Surveying).

The selection procedure has been divided into two parts.

Written Examination

Interview

For written examination two exam are held:-

Paper 1

Paper 2

Exam Pattern of Paper 1 is al follows:-

(i) General Intelligence & Reasoning –                                                  50 marks

(ii) General Awareness –                                                                      50 marks

(iii) Part –A General Engineering (Civil & Structural)

OR Part-B General Engineering (Electrical)

OR Part-C General Engineering (Mechanical) –                                  100 marks

Exam pattern for Paper 2 is as follows:-

In the 2nd paper of SSC JE only one subject is asked and it depends on the field chosen by candidate. This paper is of 300 marks and has extended syllabus unlike Paper 1.

(i)Part –A General Engineering (Civil & Structural)

OR Part-B General Engineering (Electrical)

OR Part-C General Engineering (Mechanical) –                                 300 marks

As third section of Paper 1 is same as Paper 2 subject thus complete syllabus altogether is given below.

General Knowledge/ Awareness Syllabus

Current Affairs – International & National, Indian History, Indian Culture & Heritage, and Events linked to India and its neighboring countries, General Polity, Indian & World Geography, Indian Constitution, Science & Technology and Indian Economy, etc.

Reasoning Syllabus

Data Sufficiency, Ranking & Time Sequence, Theme Detection, Logic, Analogy, Alphabet Test, Eligibility Test, Puzzle Test,  Inserting The Missing Character, Classification, Coding-Decoding, Series Completion, Alpha Numeric Sequence Puzzle, Number, Clocks & Calendars, Statement – Conclusions, Direction Sense Test, Logical Venn Diagrams, Situation Reaction Test, Statement – Arguments, Logical Sequence of Words and Deriving Conclusions from Passages, Arithmetical Reasoning, and Mathematical Operations.

Civil Engineering

   Irrigation Engineering, Building Materials, Estimating, Costing and Valuation, Surveying, Hydraulics, Environmental Engineering. Structural Engineering – Theory of Structures, Concrete Technology, RCC Design, Steel Design, Soil Mechanics, and Soil Mechanics.

Electrical Engineering

   Basic concepts, Basic Electronics, Circuit law, Magnetic Circuit, Generation, Transmission and Distribution, AC Fundamentals, Measurement and Measuring instruments, Electrical Machines, Fractional Kilowatt Motors and single phase induction Motors, Estimation and Costing, Utilization and Electrical Energy, and Synchronous Machines.

Fluid Statics, 1st Law of Thermodynamics, 2nd Law of Thermodynamics, Measurement of Fluid Pressure, Fluid kinematics,Measurement of Flow rate, basic principles,Centrifugal Pumps, Classification of steels and  Hydraulic Turbines.
