Staff Selection Commission (SSC) was set up in 1977 to conduct examination for Government Recruitment. The SSC is an organization under the central government that is tasked with the job of carrying out recruitment for GRADE B and GRADE C NON-GAZETTE posts (both technical and non technical) for central government departments. This commission consists of Chairman, a Secretary cum Controller of Examinations. SSC is an attached office of Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).
