A state funeral is scheduled to honor the late Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud, accompanied by a two-day mourning period starting today. The Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) has provided details regarding the funeral arrangements and the mourning period.

The body of Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud will be brought to the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) complex tomorrow for public viewing from 8am to 11.30am. Subsequently, funeral prayers will be held at the Demak Mosque before the burial at the family’s cemetery in Demak Jaya.
Mourning Period
The Sarawak government has declared a two-day mourning period, during which all state flags will be flown at half-mast. Official events involving entertainment are to be postponed, and mosques and places of worship are encouraged to conduct prayers in honor of Tun Taib.
