Tata slip to seventh spot in attractive brands list

Once among the top five most attractive brands in India, the venerable house of Tatas has fallen off that perch this year, according to a study .The annual study, which comes out every October-November, has ranked Tata at seventh position, a drop of here spots from last year when it was ranked fourth.

Kathmandu University in Nepal today awarded an honorary DLitt degree to visiting Indian President Pranab Mukherjee at a special convocation ceremony. The honour was conferred to Mukherjee by Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal dahal, who is also the universities chancellor.

Former world number one Tiger Woods is set to return to competitive golf at Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas next month. Woods had been sidelined for over a year due to recurring back-related problems. He last played in August 2015 before undergoing surgeries in September and October that year.


PE investment in real estate increases 22%

Private equity investments in real estate from Jan to Sep 2016 touched Rs 283 bn, a 22% increase during the same period last year. Cushman and Wake field’s latest report on private equity investments in Real Estate, released on Thursday, said about Rs 92bn of these investments was recorded during the Q3 of 2016.


NDTV India to be taken off for a day on 9 Nov

The I&B Ministry has ordered news channel NDTV India to go off air for a day for breach of the programmed code governing content in news channels. The move follows committee’s recommendations which concluded that the channel’s coverage of the Pathankot terrorist attack had revealed strategically sensitive details.
