Celebrate National Education Day: UGC directs universities

In a letter to all Vice Chancellors of Central Universities, UGC secretary Jaspal S Sandhu said the Centre had declared November 11, the birth anniversary of freedom fighter Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, as the National Education Day.To celebrate the National Education Day on November 11, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has asked universities to organise a series of events ranging from rallies to seminars.  In a letter to all Vice Chancellors of Central Universities, UGC secretary Jaspal S Sandhu said the Centre had declared November 11, the birth anniversary of freedom fighter Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, as the National Education Day.


No-Detention Policy: Here’s what the ICSE Board has to say

Following the recommendation of push the no-detention policy put forward by the Maharashtra government, the Central Advisory Board for Education along with the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) is planning to give a green signal to revise this clause under the Right to Education Act. Although the council cannot convince or influence the decision of school authorities neither they can interfere in this.  Supporting this rule, the secretary said: “To bring equality in the education system, we can always advise.”


7th Pay Commission: Central govt employees disappointed with Prime Minister for poor pay, allowances

Central government employees are feeling let down by the political authority of the country for denying them their due in terms of better monthly salary and allowances. Against representations to the Prime Minister, Home Minister, Finance Minister, Railways Minister, Departmental heads and Committees set up by the government to look into the pay and allowances related injustice, the employees have expressed utter disappointment that they have not been heard so far.“ We had sought a minimum pay of Rs 26,000, they gave us Rs 18,000. After every meeting they do not say anything. We ask, how much you can improve upon, you tell us how much you can go, buy they don’t say anything, said K. K. N. Kutty, President, Confederation of Central Government employees and Workers, on the discussions the union has had over Allowances.


IBPS CWE PO Prelims Results 2016: Declared at ibps.in

The Institute of Banking Personnel (IBPS) has published the results of the prelims examination of Probationary Officers (PO)/Management Trainee (MT) on its official website, ibps.in.The preliminary examination was held on October 16, 22, 23 and October 27. The candidates who have qualified in the preliminary examination will have to appear for the main examination on November 20. The main examination will comprise 200 questions based on reasoning, English language, quantitative aptitude, general awareness (with special reference to banking) and computer knowledge. It will carry a total of 200 marks and will be held for duration of 2 hours and 20 minutes.
