India to Start Taxing Money Gains to Singapore Investors from April
India will start imposing capital gains tax on investments coming from Singapore from April and fully withdraw release in two years as the two countries agreed to change a decade-old treaty after New Delhi bent back similar concessions to Mauritius and Cyprus earlier this year.
With the changes, announced by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Friday, investors based in Singapore will no longer benefit from tax release on capital gain taxes. Changes to the treaty with the Asian financial centre had been widely expected after India this year similarly re-drafted a 33-year old tax treaty with Mauritius.

NASA researchers say that in the near future, they might come up with ice homes on Mars to protect astronauts from critical environment. The researchers further say that to protect the astronauts from critical Martian environment, ice is probably the best building material. The surface of Mars has extreme temperatures and the atmosphere does not provide sufficient protection from high-energy radiation. The researchers believe that their “Ice Home” design provides a sound engineering solution to offer astronauts a safe place to call home. The Mars Ice Home is a large inflammable torus, a shape similar to an inner tube that is surrounded by a shell of water ice.

Beipanjiang bridge, the world’s highest at 1,854 feet, opens in China
The world’s highest bridge has opened to traffic in China, connecting two territories in the huge southwest and reducing travel times by as much as three-quarters, local authorities said Friday. The Beipanjiang Bridge top 565 metres (1,854 feet) above a river and connects the two mountainous provinces of Yunnan and Guizhou, the Guizhou provincial transport department said in a statement on its official website.
