The exam of Elementary education is conducted by the Uttar Pradesh government. It is a course of 2 years duration. The exam is conducted for those willing to become a teacher in the state of Uttar Pradesh. It is a training programme for the candidates who can take up the role of teachers and assistant teachers in future and prove to be great guides to the youth. Diploma Elementary Education course caters to the needs of elementary level education segment. In a view to improve the elementary level teacher workforce in India, this course was introduced. Eligibility Criteria for U.P. D.EL.Ed Exam:

• Candidates who are willing to apply for this exam should hold a bachelors degree.
• He/she must be a resident of Uttar Pradesh on a permanent basis.
• The age limit for a candidate is between 18 years to 35 years. There is a age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC candidates in upper age limit which is 40 years.

An aspirant while filling the application needs to make an online payment. This payment is

• 400 rupees for general and OBC category candidates.
• 200 rupees for candidates who are SC/ST.
• No fee is to be paid by the candidates who are physically handicapped.

• The exam is conducted online.
• The exams are taken semester wise.
• The duration of 2 years is divided into 4 semesters.
• Each semester exams are again divided into two parts: internal and external.
• Exams are taken within three days and three shifts.
• Written exams are external exams and practical exams are internal.
• There is almost a month gap between externals and internals where internals are taken approx a month later from written exams.

• Education and Principles of teaching
• Psychological basis of child development.
• Teaching subject: Hindi, Environmental studies, Mathematics, Social studies, Sanskrit/Urdu, English.

• Psycho Motor Aspect: Class Teaching and curriculum analysis.
• Macro teaching

For 2^nd year:

• School experience

• Relevant practical work
