United States ready to welcome students from other countries to pursue higher studies

Consular Chief Charles Luoma Overstreet said universities and educational institutions in the United States are strong and offer a lot of opportunities for students and so “we will continue to draw large number of students from other countries”.United States welcomes students from other countries to pursue their studies in universities and colleges in the country, said a senior official of the US Consulate General. SSC to freeze fund for not utilizing in upgrading ITIs: Maharashtra

The central government launched a programme under public-private partnership (PPP) scheme to upgrade 1, 396 government ITIs across the country in 2007. According to the findings from the Directorate of Vocational Education and Training (DVET), the Maharashtra government did not utilise Rs 450 crore funds granted by the Centre for up gradation of Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs).It was then acknowledged that the State Steering Committee (SSC) has put the fund on-hold since many institutes were found misusing the scheme.


Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan covers 3.63 lakh schools: Javadekar

The first goal of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan is universal enrollment and all efforts are being made to bring all children, including girls, to school, said Union HRD minister Prakash Javadekar. Under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), 2.04 lakh primary and 1.59 lakh upper primary schools across the country have been ensured to universal access to education, Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar said today During the Question Hour in Lok Sabha, the minister said that the first goal of SSA is universal enrollment and all efforts are being made to bring all children, including girls, to school.
