World Robot Olympiad 2016: to be organized in Noida

The World Robot Olympiad India (WRO India) is one of the largest robotics competitions in India for students between the age group of nine and 25 years. This year’s theme is “Rap the Scrap” – and all games in regular and the open category will be around reducing, recycling and managing waste!.. It is a not-for-profit competition jointly organized by India Stem Foundation and National Council of science and Museum. This year, the event is scheduled to be conducted on November 26 and 27 at the India Expo Centre.WRO is an event for science, technology and education which brings together the young people all over the world to develop their creativity and problem solving skills through challenging and educational robotics competitions.

Indian-American honoured with interfaith leadership award

Indian-American philanthropist Frank Islam has been honoured with the Interfaith Leadership Award for his contributions towards the arts and higher education and support of interfaith dialogue. “Americans of all faiths and background need to come together and redouble our efforts to reject hate and bigotry in all forms,” Islam said in his address to the gathering after receiving the award at the Interfaith Leadership Award Concert here over the weekend.

Virat Kohli attains career-high ICC Test ranking

Virat Kohli jumped ten places in the latest ICC Test rankings for batsmen to go to his career best of number four with 822 rating points. The list is headed by Steve Smith with 897 rating points with Joe Root on number two (844) and Kane Williamson on number three (838). Kohli’s man of the match winning exploits in the second Test against England in Visakhapatnam saw the Indian skipper’s rise to his career best ranking. The Delhi batsman is ranked No 1 in the rankings of T20 batsmen and No 2 in the ODi rankings.

Trump will not pursue investigation against Clinton: key adviser

During his presidential debates, Trump had promise that if elected, he would appoint a special prosecutor to probe Clinton’s use of a private email server as secretary of state. Making a U-turn on one of his controversial campaign promises, a top aide of Donald Trump on Tuesday said the President-elect will not pursue an investigation against his election rival Hillary Clinton’s use of a private e-mail server as secretary of state.
