IIT Bombay placement drive to start on December 1

It is anticipated to witness increase in the core placement venture this session with various stake holders, universities, colleges, and other Public Sector Units (PSU) such as ISRO, Coal India and HPCL, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), BPCL and Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) stirring to participate in the placement drive. Following the IIT Kanpur placement drive in the recent times, the IIT Bombay has also announced its placement drive for the 2016 -17 academic session whose first round would be starting from December 1. It is anticipated to witness increase in the core placement venture this session with various stake holders, universities, colleges, and other Public Sector Units (PSU) such as ISRO, Coal India and HPCL, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), BPCL and Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) stirring to participate in the placement drive. Since the primary objective of this placement drive is based upon lucrative jobs and job security, there would be a lesser participation from the startups.


National Yoga Policy: SC directs centre to decide within three months

SC to monitor setting up of International University in Odisha

The bench said it would accord final hearing in the second week of February next year on a batch of appeals and cross-appeals in the case pertaining to acquisition of over 6,000 hectares of land in the state by the Anil Agarwal Foundation, run by the promoter of the UK- based Vedanta group.The Supreme Court on Monday said it may monitor setting up an international university by UK-based Vedanta group in the holy city of Puri in Odisha to ensure that the piece of land is not used for “commercial purposes”.”The land should not be used for commercial purpose other than education. The court can monitor setting up of the university,” a bench of Chief Justice T S Thakur and Justice D Y Chandrachud said.
