SSC CGL Tier 1 2016: Results declared at ssc.nic.in
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the results of Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGLE) Tier 1 on its official website, ssc.nic.in. Over 14.99 Lakh candidates appeared in the examination which was held from August 27 to September 11 at 415 centres’s in 96 cities across the country. The exam had four sections based on General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English Comprehension. After qualifying the Tier 1 exam, the candidates will appear in Tier 2 examination which is scheduled to be held between November 30 and December 2 (tentatively). This year, the Commission has revised the scheme of the examination. They have introduced Descriptive paper of English/Hindi as Tier III.
IIM Calcutta to come up with collaborative rural community
IIM Calcutta’s Social Informatics Research Group has decided to come up with a project in order to build the next-generation of collaborative and responsive rural community. 50 smart phones have been donated by Panasonic India for this project so as to study the usage of smartphone.The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta’s Social Informatics Research Group has decided to come up with a project in order to build the next-generation of collaborative and responsive rural community by digitally empowering them. This project is a part of a larger project funded by Information Technology Research Academy.
Telangana to have digital classroom
In a bid to improve the quality of education, the Telangana state has decided to supplement the education system with the implementation of digital classroom across the schools. The Telangana government would introduce digital classrooms in the first phase in 1,500 schools from November 14, the Children’s Day, Deputy Chief Minister K Srihari said in Hyderabad on Monday.
Chennai: Include three educational experts in the panel, directs HC
The PIL was filed by the director of an NGO, CHANGE India, and A Narayanan. The state government has been directed to include three educational experts in the panel constituted by the government to deal with issues, including minimum land requirement, relating to 746 unauthorized schools. The court said the advocate general submitted that the norms have been worked out but conceded that the committee consists of only bureaucrats manning department persons concerned with education.
Supreme Court allows BCCI to incur Rs 58.66 lakhs as expense for Rajkot Test
Supreme Court has allowed Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to incur expenses of Rs 58.66 lakhs in order to efficiently host the first Test of the series against England. The first Test had come under trouble earlier in the day when BCCI had sought Supreme Court’s intervention with no funds available to pay for bills for the visiting England team. BCCI was barred from disbursing funds after being rapped by the court for non-compliance with the Lodha pane additionally, the court has asked the Lodha panel to appoint an auditor at the earliest to examine BCCI’s account amid claims it was unable to host the Test or the series properly in the absence of funds.
