This university announces free of cost higher education to orphan students

Bangalore University (BU) has announced free of cost education master degree courses for orphan students. After seeing the problems faced by those who cannot afford higher education which includes children from the weaker section of the society and orphans, Bangalore University (BU) recently announced to provide free education to master degree courses.

The university will be offering free of cost education and boarding facilities to orphan students. And two programmes—Post Graduation and Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) — will be offered as per reports, two girls are currently pursuing PG courses under this scheme also, a few years ago, the university had reserved seats for candidates seeking admission under transgender category. Further, a senior official in BU while speaking to TOI correspondent said teaching faculties of the university will donate money to provide free education to children under the scheme. Meanwhile, students falling under this scheme can apply for the programmes by submitting death certificates of their parents and income certificate.KN Ninge Gowda, registrar of BU, said all the students will be given free food and training in personality development “If students fail to complete the course in the stipulated time, they will be allowed to stay in the hostel till they clear supplementary exams. The university has not reserved a particular number of seats for orphan students; meritorious students will be given seats under the general quota,” he added.

Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal announces to give free coaching to the students of weaker sections

Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Friday has announced to set up a world class centre for imparting civil services coaching in the state. Parkash Singh Badal expressed hope that the coaching centre would ensure more participation of weaker and underprivileged sections of the society. Also, Bathinda city has today emerged as a hub of education in the entire northern region. The state government has given top priority towards the development and prosperity of the people in the state.  He also mentioned that following the ideology of Ambedkar, the government has set up praiseworthy schools for imparting quality education to poor but bright students.

Govt to give more autonomy to IIMs

He Indian Institutes of Management (IIM) and reduce government control over them under a proposed Bill, with Union minister Prakash Javadekar reworking the provisions introduced under his predecessor Smriti Irani.
It is understood that the HRD ministry under Irani did not favour some of these changes, but with the PMO apparently supportive of more autonomy, her successor Javadekar has accepted them.The new draft bill is now learnt to have gone to the Law ministry for vetting. Among other provisions which have been changed relate to minimising government control over IIM coordination panel, the sources said.

Amit Kalra, a 16-year-old student from California, who was unable to cope with mathematics, because he had to change schools twice during the new academic session.But, this boy did not give up. Instead he created an app that would do all his maths homework on time.

While talking to Business Insider, Kalra said,” I started struggling, I was on my own. I didn’t know anyone in class.” This app is specifically designed to take the guesswork out of algebra, geometry, calculus, and other subjects, by allowing users to input the values into the given formula, letting the app do the rest.Not only this, if someone is ready to pay a small one-time fee of $1.99, it will also show you a detailed steps involved in the calculation process.This app will help students who end up not doing their homework at all, Kalra added.
