Theresa Mathis and Mario Mellusi, both Italians, gave birth to Chez Mellusi. Mellusi’s father works as the general manager of the Barbatella restaurant.
Chez is the first Mellusi to pursue a professional football career. He has been in excellent form for the Wisconsin Badgers.

Mario Mellusi and Tersea Mathis, the parents of Chez Mellusi, are Italians. They have lived in both America and Italy.
Mellusi comes from a diverse set of ancestors and backgrounds. His father is from Italy, and his mother is from the United States. Furthermore, his father, Mario, is of Caucasian descent, while his mother is of African American descent.
Mario Mellusi was born, raised, and educated on Ischia, a beautiful Italian island off the coast of Positano. He was always interested in hospitality and began working at a young age in a restaurant run by his family in Ischia.
Chez’s parents first met in their twenties, when Mario moved to the United States and settled down at the famous Tiberio in Washington, DC. They dated for a while before deciding to take their relationship to the next level. They’ve been together for over two decades and are now a married couple with multiple children.
On September 4, 2018, the Mellusi-couple was spotted at one of their son’s games. This photo received numerous positive messages and comments, including one from an Instagram user named Kim Baker, who appears to be his aunt.
Mario, His Father Is General Manager At Barbatella
The Mario is the general manager of Barbatella, one of Naples, Florida’s best restaurants. He has been with us for 12 years.

In his twenties, Mario immigrated to America and settled at Tiberio, the renowned Washington, DC, palace of Italian haute cuisine.
Tiberio’s reputation among Washington visitors grew to rival the city’s upscale French eateries, and a six-month stay turned into six years. This decision proved to be one of his best in life, as he has achieved tremendous success in his passion.

Mario and Chef Fabrizio Aielli collaborated to open Goldoni, one of Washington, DC’s top three Italian restaurants, in 1997, which later became Teatro Goldoni.
After Mario opened Goldoni, James Beard Award-winning Chef Roberto Donna hired him to work at his restaurant Galileo.
After seven years at Galileo, Mario decided to rejoin the Aielli group and open a new restaurant in Naples, Florida. Barbatella first opened its doors in 2011, and Mario has since found a home. His son attended Naples High School and is now a Clemson Tigers Division I football player.
Mario’s passion, aside from cooking outstanding cuisine, is passing on his knowledge and experience to his employees and young adults who want to work in the hotel and culinary industries.

Mellusi was a standout all-around performer for the Gators and one of the best running backs in the country. ESPN.com ranked him as the 137th best overall player in the country, ranking him as Florida’s 23rd best overall player and seventh-best running back.
247Sports ranked him as the 17th-best rushing back in the country, Rivals as the 20th-best running back, PrepStar as the 216th-best player overall, and Rivals as the 14th-best running back. All of the reviewers gave him four stars.
He had 276 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 44 runs for 81 snaps in 11 games, and he carried the ball six times for 36 yards in his collegiate debut against Georgia Tech. He scored a 57-yard touchdown on one carry against Syracuse, and he carried the ball six times for 30 yards against Charlotte.
Chez gained 22 yards on five carries against Florida State, compared to 35 yards and a touchdown on five carries against Louisville. After carrying the ball twice for five yards against NC State and Wake Forest, he carried the ball eight times for 57 yards against Wofford.
Professional Career Of Chez Mellusi
Mellusi is the most recent in a long line of outstanding running backs from Naples High. He gained 25 yards on four carries and one reception in his first game of the season against The Citadel, in addition to his first running touchdown of the season against Virginia.
Also, Chez also ran for 10 yards three times. He gained 13 yards on two carries against No. 7 Miami. At Georgia Tech, he carried five times for 21 yards and scored one touchdown. Mellusi had three four-yard runs against Syracuse and one five-yard run against No. 4 Notre Dame.
