The basketball player, who was 26 years old at the time, made his proposal to Nyomi on May 13, 2019. The couple’s nearest and dearest friends and family members joined them for the engagement ceremony.

Following the engagement ceremony, he took to social media to walk his followers through the proposal’s most memorable moments.

On Devontae’s Instagram post, his mother, Rose Cacok, left a remark beneath the image of his upcoming engagement.

2019 marked the year that Nyomi Ortiz received her degree from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Home Instead Senior Care employs Nyomi in the role of caregiver.

After that, Ortiz enrolled at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro to pursue post-baccalaureate studies in biology between the years 2019 and 2020.
