How to prepare for East Coast Railway Recruitment Exam?

Most of the aspirant’s dream of having a glamorous job that will fetch them handsome money and make them popular among everyone else. It is not wrong to want such fame and respect. After all, we all work hard for it. And some people do get that kind of job and become famous and respected because they worked towards achieving their goal and gave it their best shot.

But then, some cannot fulfill this dream no matter how hard they try; there are always some limitations that stop people from becoming what they desire. But every cloud has a silver lining, so is this case.

You must have observed that those who could study for more than thirty minutes without any distraction score good marks in their exams. While on the other hand, those with poor concentration power; let us say they are easily distracted by the movements of a cockroach or someone who is coughing at the back, fail miserably even after studying with full dedication for hours together.

Well, this is where your focus comes into the picture. Concentrating on one task or thought for more than thirty minutes can fetch you that job or rather help you get selected for that dream job.

East Coast Railway is one of India’s most prestigious rail networks, so how great would it be if we could get employed here? But before attempting ECRC Preparation Exam, there is some preparation that every candidate is required to do, and this preparation mainly revolves around building your concentration power.

First, we will discuss some simple and easy to follow tips that you should keep in mind before attempting East Coast Railway Recruitment Exam:

  1. Develop a Realistic Preparation Schedule

Making a timetable and following it is one of the most important things if you wish to excel. Whatever your daily routine might be, try to adjust it according to your preparation plan. This will help you track your progress as well as helps you realize what part of the syllabus needs more focus than the others. If nothing else, at least this preparation schedule can tell you which day was most effective for studying so that way next time, you can go through those chapters again on that day only.

  1. Do a Self-assessment

This is another great method to find out where you stand and how much more effort you need to put in. Every time you finish a chapter, go through it yourself and then compare your answers with the ones in the book or class notes. This will help you gauge how well prepared you are for your exam and what mistakes you need to concentrate on while revising those chapters again.

  1. Concentrate on Getting Good Sleep

It is always advisable to have a sound sleep during the night so that your brain cells get a break from all the hard work they did for studying throughout the daytime. Also note, having a sound sleep after every six hours of study is very important.

  1. Do Not Forget to Take Preparation Breaks

It is always said that you need to have some fun after studying hard for several hours together. So make sure that you go out with your friends, watch a movie or take up a hobby you like. This way, it will refresh your mind and help you relieve all the stress and tension accumulated while studying for too long at one stretch.

  1. Stop Studying Two Hours Before You Intend To Sleep

Though some might disagree on this point, stopping half an hour before going to bed can help in having a sound sleep and a relaxed mind. Also, note that if you stay awake all night studying for your exam, there are very slim chances of you getting good sleep on the eve of your exam.

  1. Practice by Taking Mock Tests

Mock tests are an all-time favorite method to prepare for competitive exams like ECRC Preparation Exam. So make sure that you take as many mock tests as possible before the actual day. This way, it will teach you how much time you need to complete each chapter and let you know which areas need more attention than the others.

  1. Stay Calm and Motivated

Nothing is scarier than waking up in the morning and seeing that alarm clock right in front of your face. If this has ever happened to you, you might have a fair idea of how desperate you feel in those moments. To avoid such an occurrence, make sure that the alarm clock is placed as far away from your bed as possible so that at least by the time you wake up fully, the alarm will have stopped ringing and therefore there’s no sudden jolt due to which you can’t get out of bed.

  1. Keep Preparation Time Reasonable

This point is meant for those candidates who might be working while preparing for their exams. If this is the case, then make sure that your preparation time does not turn into an excuse for everyone to ask why you are trying too hard compared to them. Instead, try maintaining a balance between your career and examination goals.

  1. Preparation is not all about your books

A person might prepare the best of the notes and class notes but still may not be able to score well in their exam. Preparation also includes making mental notes of things that you study, like if there’s a doubt about any topic, then try clearing them at the earliest because otherwise it will keep on nagging you and disturb your preparation for the entire day.

  1. Be Confident

Though this point has been repeated several times in this article, it doesn’t make sense unless you think about it more than once. So whenever you feel low or discouraged, take a deep breath and tell that it is just one test and you can do it. Believe in yourself and your abilities because no one else will.
