Eddie Olczyk is a 55 years old athlete who played 16 seasons in the National Hockey League during his prime and won the Stanley Cup in 1994 with the Rangers.
Olczyk was born on August 16, 1966, in Chicago, Illinois, United States. He played center for 16 seasons in the NHL and for six different professional ice hockey teams during his career.
Eddie was also the head coach of the Pittsburgh Penguins and a color commentator for NHL on NBC. He is still a color commentator, but now for NBC Sports Chicago on TNT and Chicago Blackhawks games.

Eddie missed the show because he was getting an award from the Digestive Health Foundation @NorthwesternMed for his bravery and fight against colon cancer. Early in 2022, word got out that his health was getting worse.
The former NHL player was said to be sick and taken to the hospital for treatment, but no other information was given about what happened. During the break between halves of one of the games in January 2022, he was taken to the hospital.
His fans were worried about his health because he just beat cancer in 2018, but he was still feeling the effects of it. Hopefully, nothing serious has happened to the former athlete who is now a coach.

Eddie beat cancer. He was diagnosed with a type of colon cancer and had surgery to remove the tumor. He worked with great doctors and nurses to get rid of the disease.
The former NCAA assistant coach stayed strong thanks to the love and care of his family and friends. He also got the treatments he needed, like chemotherapy, to get healthy again.
Olczyk also wrote an autobiography called “Eddie Olczyk: Beating the Odds in Hockey and Life.” In it, he talked about his fight against stage 3 colon cancer.
The coach is also in good health and looking forward to re-signing his contract with the Blackhawks. On Tap Sports Net says that he will join Chris Vosters in the broadcast booth.
