Elizabeth Tulloch’s Eyes Following Intraocular Lens Implantation

Following iridocorneal lens (ICL) surgery, Elizabeth Tulloch now has a distinctively altered eye appearance.

In order to have her vision corrected, she had taken a break from filming Grimm for the five weeks that separated the first and second seasons.

She disclosed to the New York Post in an interview that she was unable to see because she had an implanted permanent contact lens placed under her iris. She also discussed how bizarre it was for her to have been blind for all of her life and then to see things the moment she opened her eyes.

For a considerable amount of time, a great number of individuals on social media have commented on her eyes. After having the procedure done in 2012, she posted about finally getting rid of her ICL after wearing it for the previous 13 years. Before then, there were rumors that she suffered from strabismus.

ICL is a procedure that can be done instead of Lasik surgery. During this operation, the surgeon will permanently implant contact lenses in the patient’s eyes in order to improve their eyesight. While the actress never said if she removed ICL or not, she had said there are 99 percent likelihood that she would remove it.

She did not go into detail about the reason why she was leaving, but she did say that she was nearly blind in one eye. According to Healthline, although the operation is performed to improve a patient’s vision, there is a rare risk that the procedure could result in a loss of sight that is permanent.

She also sent out tweets on the day of her eye surgery, in which she discussed how she was going to be given anesthetic and how it would prevent her from drinking or eating.
