Early Life

Isildur was born in Nmenor in the Second Age year SA 3209.

His younger brother, Anárion, was born in SA 3219. They lived at Rómenna Harbour on the east coast of the island of Nmenor. Amandil, the Lord of Andni, was their grandfather, and Elendil was their father. The Lords of Andni were descended from the Kings of Nmenor through Silmarin, the eldest child and daughter of Tar-Elendil, the fourth King of Nmenor.

Elros, the first King of Nmenor and a Half-elf, had chosen the life of a Man over his brother Elrond’s life of an Elf. The Kings of Nmenor gradually grew to lament their ancestor’s decision and wished for their own immortal life. They lost contact with the Valar and the Elves, and they ceased honoring Eru, the creator of them.

A small group of Nmenóreans stayed loyal to Eru and the Valar while preserving friendly relations with the Elves. Their moniker was The Faithful. Among these men were the Lords of Andni.

Professional Life

In SA 3262, Ar-Pharazôn, King of Nmenor, abducted Sauron and took him to Nmenor. Sauron allowed himself to be taken in order to corrupt the Nmenóreans and bring about their doom. By appealing to their thirst for immortality and power, he persuaded them to abandon Eru and turn to Morgoth.

Isildur learnt that Sauron wanted Ar-Pharazôn to cut down Nimloth, the White Tree that had migrated from the Undying Lands. Isildur disguised himself and crept into the King’s Court to take a fruit from Nimloth. The guards discovered him and attacked him, but despite his serious injuries, he managed to flee with the fruit. Isildur received significant praise for his actions. He was on the point of death for months, but when the White Tree’s fruit began to sprout, he awoke and recovered from his wounds.

As Sauron’s power expanded, the Faithful began to organize their escape from Nmenor. They packed nine ships with their family and numerous priceless items, including the palantri. Isildur, who owned three ships, delivered the Stone of Erech, a White Tree seedling, together with his wife and son Elendur, who was born in SA 3299.

Isildur’s paternal grandfather, Amandil, sought to petition the Valar to spare the Faithful. He sailed ship for the West’s Undying Lands, but it is unknown what happened to him, and he was never seen or heard from again.

Career Life

As Ar-Pharazôn grew older, Sauron’s lies assisted him in coming to terms with the thought of living in the Undying Lands. In SA 3319, Ar-Pharazôn set out with a vast fleet with the aim of forcibly seizing the Undying Lands, but when he arrived at the shore, Eru Ilatar ordered the Seas to open up, obscuring Valinor. Nmenor was carried away by a massive wave, and the fleet sank.

In the most recent episode of Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Episode 7, the father and son shared a tender moment with their favorite horses. However, the most recent episode teases his tragic demise, and his fans have yet to accept it. They feel that in the Second Age, he has more vital things to do than cleaning stables and brooding.

Isildur will survive in some way, and Berek might be able to explain how. Perhaps after everyone else has given up, the horse locates Isildur and proudly transports him back to the Nmenórean camp.

Isildur made some bad decisions throughout The Rings of Power. But, despite his father Elendil’s constant provision of opportunities, he never takes use of them.

Isildur has recently begun to grow. Galadriel, with whom he conversed, must have provided him with clearer vision. Isildur was ready to give up his life by the time Episode 7, “The Eye,” arrived.
