India-Arab Partnership Conference Held
- Aiming to boost economic ties between India and Arab countries, the 5th India-Arab Partnership Conference held in Muscat and Oman on December 18, 2016.
- The two-day conference has been organised by the Oman Foreign Ministry, Arab League Secretariat in association with the Ministry of External Affairs in India.
- The theme of the conference this year is Partnership towards innovation and cooperation in Information Technology.
India-UK Ease of Doing Business Conference Inaugurated
- The India-UK Conference on Ease of Doing Business was jointly inaugurated by Secretary, Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, India, Ramesh Abhishek and British High Commissioner Sir Dominic Asquith, on December 8, 2016 in New Delhi.
- The India and UK partnership on Ease of Doing Business is important because of the role that the business environment plays in encouraging trade, investment, innovation and economic growth.
Meeting of the BRICS Heads of Revenue and Experts on Tax Matters Held
- It discussed the potential areas of cooperation and The Heads of Revenue of the BRICS countries, namely the Federative Republic of Brazil, the Russian Federation, the Republic of India, the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of South Africa held a meeting on December 5 mid 6, 2016 in Mumbai (Maharashtra).
- Exchange opinions and views based on their existing commitment to openness, solidarity, equality, mutual understanding, inclusiveness and mutually beneficial cooperation.
- The Heads of Revenue also issued a joint communique at the end of the meeting that expressed their continued support to all international initiatives ‘ towards reaching a globally fair and universally transparent tax system.
