Infiesto (Netflix): Who Is Responsible For The Abduction Of Saioa & Others?

In order to please the Celtic deity Taranis and earn salvation from the coming apocalypse, a cult that was led by “The Prophet” began kidnapped teenagers for the purpose of sacrificing them as part of a ritual.

We discover that the cult has been active for a considerable amount of time; nonetheless, the current kidnappings are connected to the pandemic and the cult’s belief that the end of the world is drawing near.

Because the cult has for a long time held the belief that the end of the world is on its way, they have been kidnapping teenagers from all over Spain on a regular basis, once every three months, in order to prevent the authorities from simply connecting the dots between the missing children.

As the virus begins to spread, the leaders of the cult appear to be convinced that they are acting appropriately because they believe the outbreak is a portent of the end of the world.

The Prophet is the head of the cult, although he is assisted in his leadership by his two trusted followers, the Dog Killer and the Demon.

Early on in the film, the Dog Killer ends his life by hanging himself, and the Demon is subsequently captured.

Infiesto (Netflix): Theme Analysis

As the story draws to a close, we get a sense of the helplessness that permeated the majority of our lives during the pandemic. The stakes were enormous, and our normal way of life was jeopardized by the situation.

Because there was no obvious sign of optimism during those early days, we all agreed that they were some of the most dreadful days we had ever experienced.

However, the conclusion is not universally applicable to the idea that the “end of the world” has arrived; rather, it is exclusive to the panic caused by the coronavirus.

Under the guise of religion, Ramos and others like him carried out their acts with the intention of delivering humanity from God’s vengeance. These activities were carried out for this reason.

When faced with situations in which there is no hope, it is our nature to search for anything that we can cling to, something that will enable us to make it through.

That ended up being the mission that some people, like Ramos, Demon, and the Dog Killer, were a part of. It gave them the impression that the purpose of their lives was elevated to a higher level.

In addition to that, it provided them with the opportunity to redeem the world and restore it to a state that they regard to be “perfect.”

Infiesto portrays a horrifying picture of comparable fanaticism through these comparisons, which look to many people as a solution, but are actually a sermon that can damage the lives of innocent people.

Infiesto (Netflix): Ending Explained

  • After watching the movie, we now understand that the investigator Samuel had discovered the location of the cult leader’s home, which prompted him to hastily depart for the hunch without any appropriate backup.
  • Ramos, a police officer from the nearby town, was the only person who rushed to his aid.
  • In the end, Detective Samuel was taken aback when Detective Castro informed him over the phone that the local cop he was with at the time, Ramos, was in fact the leader of the cult.
  • The investigation as a whole had taken a troubling turn, and the realization that someone so close to them could have been guilty for such heinous atrocities was unsettling as well as illuminating.
  • Despite this, Samuel was adamant on bringing Ramos to justice, and he was willing to put himself in danger in order to accomplish this goal.
  • The climactic showdown between Samuel and Ramos did not last long since Ramos showed to be more agile than Samuel.
  • In a fraction of a second, Ramos pulled the trigger, and Samuel was shot and killed before he had the opportunity to fire his firearm.
  • When Detective Castro finally arrived, he discovered that his partner had been found dead in the wet conditions they had been working in.

  • The death of Samuel was a blow to Detective Castro that he will never recover from. She had lost both a partner and a friend, and the realization that Ramos was to blame for her buddy’s passing just added gasoline to the fire of her wrath.
  • Consequently, she was able to locate him in a tunnel beneath the city and see the gruesome avatar of Ramos up close and personal.
  • Notably, the cult leader had persuaded himself that he was a prophet, and that he had been selected by a higher authority to carry out the rites and abductions.
  • The young girls were used as nothing more than sacrifices in his attempt to placate his god. In the end, Castro was able to sense the tension as the two of them confronted one another with their weapons drawn.
  • At the very end, she opened fire on Ramos because she was adamant about bringing him to account for the crimes he had perpetrated. In addition, the cult leader was unable to match the quickness of the officer, and Ramos ended up collapsing and dying on the ground.
  • When Detective Castro came up out of the tunnel and gazed out at the city, she couldn’t help but think that the world was coming to an end.
  • The struggles that had been going on in the city over the past few days could be seen as a metaphor for the end of the world, with good and evil fighting it out for control of the metropolis. Which is a point that Castro makes several times throughout the film’s closing sequences.

Infiesto (Netflix): Is It Connected With Covid-19?

After the death of this man, the detectives begin to investigate his family, and during their investigation, they learn that the deceased man’s brother was a notorious figure in the local community.

The individual in question is referred to as “The Devil,” and when the authorities locate him, they and he engage in a round of gunfire with one another. However, they are unable to kill him because he is the only source of information regarding the freshly stolen ladies.

They discover a number of pairs of shoes and articles of clothes belonging to other girls, and once they are able to question the perpetrator, he starts talking about a prophecy and how sacrifices are required during these difficult times.

It would appear that our investigators have made a startling discovery regarding a cult. One person believes that the COVID-19 virus is a sign that the world is ending, and that the only way to be saved is to offer human sacrifices to an old Celtic goddess.

This person also believes that this is the only way to stop the virus from spreading. Samuel, in his search for the origin of the cult, comes across a photograph by accident.

None of this makes any sense, but the photograph may hold the key. After that, he seeks out a local resident to inquire about the identity of the individual seen in the photograph.

He asks a law enforcement officer by the name of Ramos, and Ramos takes him to a location where, according to Ramos, someone who is familiar with the subject of the photograph lives.

The final scene of the film depicts Marta visiting his sick spouse, who is afflicted with COVID-19. The two of them embrace one another as they observe the state of the planet.

It is a very bleak finish, but it feels terribly disappointing because we didn’t get the chance to connect with Samuel, who is now dead, or with the case and its numerous mysterious elements. This is a major flaw in the conclusion.
