Kevin Love: Career
Love told the press at a press conference on April 17, 2008, that he planned to leave UCLA and enter the 2008 NBA draft. He was taken by the Memphis Grizzlies with the fifth overall pick, right after his UCLA teammate Russell Westbrook, who was taken by the Seattle SuperSonics.2
After the draft, Love, Mike Miller, Brian Cardinal, and Jason Collins were traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves. In exchange, the Grizzlies got the third overall pick, O.J.
