KVS Recruitment Exam and Syllabus

Dear aspirants, KVS, the government of NCT of Delhi, is about to issue KVS Recruitment Notification for various posts. The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan is responsible for conducting examinations to appoint candidates for teaching and non-teaching posts. More than 9000+ vacancies are expected to be announced for various posts this year. However, as per the latest RTI report, 4069 PRT vacancies remain vacant in the KVS schools.

About KVS Recruitment

Every year Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) recruits many teachers for both primary and secondary sections under different categories. In this article, we will discuss the recruitment process that KVS conducts for recruiting teachers and non-teaching staff for Kendriya Vidyalaya. We will also discuss how to prepare for KVS Recruitment Exam. The educational organization operating under the Ministry of Human Resources and Development, Government of India recruits eligible TGT, PGT, and PRT candidates for deployment to various schools.

The KVS Preliminary and Mains Examination are conducted online for recruiting teachers from Humanities, Science, and Commerce streams for both primary and secondary sections of Kendriya Vidyalaya. In addition to teaching posts, they also recruit non-teaching staff such as peons, clerks etc., KendriyaVidyalayaSangathan has a separate recruitment procedure. The prelims exam is held twice every year, i.e., May and December. Those who qualify in the prelims round can appear for the next rounds, which contain subject papers, depending on the post applied.

Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan is an autonomous body under MHRD, so it does not come under the state government’s jurisdiction. Kendriya Vidyalaya is divided into 3 sectors, namely, Central, East and West, with each sector having a Kendriya Vidyalaya in almost every major city of India. Eligibility for KVS PGT Recruitment

  • Master’s Degree from a recognized university with at least 50% marks.
  • Ed or equivalent degree from a recognized university.
  • Proficiency in teaching Hindi and English media.

KVS Recruitment: TGT Teachers

  • Bachelor’s Degree with at least 50% marks in the concerned subjects/combination of subjects and in aggregate.
  • Ed or equivalent degree from a recognized university.
  • Pass in the CTET Paper II by CBSE or appear in CTET.
  • Proficiency in teaching Hindi and English media.

PRT Teachers Eligibility for KVS Recruitment

Essential:

Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)

Or

Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)

Or

Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education

Or

Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.)*

Who has qualified as Bachelor of Education from any NCTE recognized institution shall be considered for appointment as a teacher in class I-V provided the person so appointed as a teacher shall mandatorily undergo a six month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by the NCTE within two years of such appointment as Primary Teacher.

  • Qualified in the Central Teacher Eligibility Test conducted by the Govt. of India.
  • Proficiency to teach through Hindi & English media.

 Desirable:

Knowledge of working on Computer.

KVS Recruitment Selection Process:

The recruitment process is two-fold:

  1. i) Written exam
  2. ii) Interview

After clearing these stages, candidates need to give medical fitness tests before joining their respective posts.

In a written test, there are mainly 3 stages in which the KendriyaVidyalayaSangathan exam is conducted. The stages are Preliminary Exam, Main Exam, and Interview.

Kendriya Vidyalaya Exam Centres

Kendriya Vidyalaya recruitment is conducted in the examination centers spread all over India, and Kendriya Vidyalaya can set up additional examination centers wherever required. The guidelines on Recruitment provide that Kendriya Vidyalaya has to follow the following principles while selecting an examination center.

  1. Only such schools where necessary Infrastructure, teaching staff, and other facilities are available will be considered as the exam center.
  2. The recruitment exam can be conducted where necessary Infrastructure and facilities (like a blackboard, clean drinking water, safe drinking water, etc.) are available.
  3. The Nodal office for the examination will fix the schedule of the KVS Mains Examination, keeping in view the convenience of candidates and Kendriya Vidyalaya-exam centers.
  4. The date sheet for KVS Mains Exam is released at least 2 months before the commencement of the examination so that candidates can get KVS Admit Card.
  5. The organizing committee conducts these recruitment exams twice a year at various examination centers located across India.

Teacher posts in Kendriya Vidyalaya are of two types:-

  1. Permanent employees
  2. Contractual Employees
