LIC Assistant Administrative Officer Exam Pattern

After the IBPS PO, Clerk and SO exams, you must have already started preparing for LIC AAO exams. Offering a lucrative salary package, this job has always been one of the top choices of aspirants.

Altogether, there will be five sections in the exam and total 160 questions. The table below gives you a complete idea about the LIC Assistant Administrative officer exam pattern:

Let’s talk about each section separately…

Computer Awareness

Syllabus: History of Computer Development, Types of Computer, MS Office, Windows, Computer Software and Hardware, Shortcut keys, Networking, Internet Etc.

Tips: This section is really easy to score good marks in very less time because syllabus of this section is limited. From 30 questions you can easily score 25-26 marks.

General Awareness

Syllabus: Important Days, Current affairs (National & International), Financial / Economic News, Books and Authors, Awards and Honors, General Terms of Banking and Insurance, General Science – Inventions and Discoveries, International and National Organizations, their heads, Sports news, Budget, Five Year Plans, Summits, Census, Government Schemes and Ministers, Countries and Capitals, Abbreviations

Tips: To prepare current affairs and GK, it is sufficient to read monthly current affairs. You may get it on our website here

English Language

Syllabus: Synonyms, Antonyms, Idioms and Phrases, Rearrangement of Sentence / Paragraph, Fill in The Blanks, Cloze Test, Comprehension passage, One Word Substitution, Verb, Subject verb Agreement, Articles, Adverb, Error Correction, Tenses, Vocabulary.

Tips: This section is essential only for qualifying purpose as no marks are allotted for this section. So, you only need to clear the cutoff. If you English is good enough to clear the cutoff then no need to worry else you will have to dedicate some time for this section as well.

Quantitative Aptitude

Syllabus: Number System, HCF & LCM, Fractions and Decimals, Simplification, Problem on Ages, Percentages, Profit and Loss, Time and work, Ratio and Proportion, Average, Simple and Compound Interest, Mensuration, Alligation and Mixtures, Time and Distance, Data Interpretation etc.

Tips: To master this section, all you need to do is “practice”. Pick one topic at a time, study and learn the basic formulas in it and start solving as many questions as you can. Choose from a variety of questions and keep on practicing until you master them all.

Reasoning Ability

Syllabus: Alphabetical and miscellaneous Series, Coding Decoding, Analogy, Direction, Decision Making, Blood relations, Cubes and dice, Series, Arithmetical Reasoning, Blood Relations, Clock and Calendars, Order & ranking, Seating arrangement.

Tips: This is the toughest part of the exam. Scoring good marks in this section is quite difficult in the limited time given. So, the trick is to skip the difficult puzzles and focus on miscellaneous questions like blood relations and syllogs that can fetch you more marks in just few minutes. Please don’t waste your time on solving puzzles as you may even risk scoring the required marks.
