Biography

Born on August 2, 2002, in Accra, Ghana, he spent his childhood career with the academies of Strong tower FC and Right to Dream in his home country. At the age of 17, the young youth was noticed and signed by Danish team FC Nordsjaelland in 2018. In a 2-0 loss to Brndby IF, the midfielder made his debut. Soon after, Mo would demonstrate his undoubted skill with 14 goals and 3 assists in 51 Superligaen games.

His strong exploits drew the attention of scouts from Europe’s top teams, including Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund, Serie A outfit AC Milan, and both clubs from Merseyside, England, in Liverpool and Everton; but, it was Europe’s greatest talent factory, AFC Ajax, who sealed the deal.

The Eredivisie giants moved quickly, and the Ghanaian midfielder signed a five-year contract, securing a €9 million move to Amsterdam. Mo made his debut for Ajax with a man of the match performance against Vitesse Arnhem, bagging an assist as 10 men Ajax clinched a hard-fought victory. Mo has represented Ghana at the U17 and U20 levels, and he made his national team debut on November 14th, 2019.

Nordsjaelland

Kudus joined Nordsjlland from the Ghanaian Right to Dream Academy in January 2018 at the age of 12, together with two teammates, Ibrahim Sadiq and Gideon Mensah.

Kudus made his Nordsjlland debut just three days after his 18th birthday, in a 2-0 loss to Brndby IF. He started as a striker from the start but was replaced at halftime. With his debut, he became the club’s ninth youngest player to make his debut.

Ajax

Kudus signed a five-year contract with Eredivisie club Ajax on July 16, 2020, for €9 million. On September 20, he made his official debut for the club in a league match against RKC Waalwijk. Head coach Erik ten Hag later described Kudus as a player with “great potential.”

He continued his outstanding play, scoring one goal and assisting on three others in his first three games. However, his UEFA Champions League debut against Liverpool at home on 21 October was a disaster. Kudus was replaced after only 6 minutes due to a meniscus injury that would keep him out for several months.
