NBA guard Bryn Forbes was arrested in San Antonio early Wednesday morning after he allegedly hit his girlfriend several times during a fight with her. The woman was taken to a hospital nearby to get medical care.

The 29-year-old free agent was picked up at La Cantera Resort and Spa around 5:15 a.m., according to KSAT. The Minnesota Timberwolves let him go on February 9.

The two fought on the way back to the resort, and it got worse when they got there. Forbes was charged with a minor crime of violence against a family member, and his bail was set at $2,500.00.

Forbes played in the NBA for seven years, and his most important role was with the San Antonio Spurs from 2016 to 21. Forbes played more than 25 minutes a game on average for the Spurs from 2018 to 2020. He was a key part of the team’s rotation.

Forbes played all 82 games in 2018-19 and averaged 11.8 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game (all career highs).

Police records show that NBA free agent Bryn Forbes, who has played for four teams over seven seasons, was arrested early Wednesday morning in San Antonio on a charge of family violence.1

Forbes was let go by the Minnesota Timberwolves last week. According to police records, he was arrested on suspicion of assault with bodily injury, a misdemeanor, after a fight with elsa jean turned physical.

Forbes was taken into custody at a home in north-central San Antonio at 5 a.m. on Wednesday. He was taken to the Bexar County Jail, which did not have a bail amount set.

In Forbes’s jail records, there is no name of a lawyer who can speak for him.

A police report says that Forbes got into a fight with a woman he is dating. The report says that after the couple got home, Forbes hit the woman several times. Emergency Medical Services and the San Antonio Fire Department came to help the woman.

Forbes joined the San Antonio Spurs for the 2016 NBA Summer League after not being picked in the 2016 NBA draft. After Forbes made 77 of 100 three-point shots at one of his NBA pre-draft workouts, Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich told him to “shoot it” before the Summer League.

Forbes got a spot on the team’s roster for opening night because he impressed the Spurs during training camp and the preseason. Forbes only played a few games for the Spurs during his first year, spending most of his time with the Austin Spurs in the NBA Development League.
