Lynch was selected by the Denver Broncos with the 27th overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft following a fruitful collegiate football career at the University of Memphis.

In June of 2016, he put his name on a contract worth $9,476,296 over four years and received a signing bonus of $5,091,852.

Lynch was in Denver for two seasons, but he only played in five games during that time. He completed 61.7 percent of his throws for 792 yards, threw four touchdown passes, but also threw four interceptions, and finished with a record of 1-3. Due to the fact that he had not been able to fulfill his enormous potential, he was let go in October of 2018.

The rookie quarterback went on to have brief experiences with the Seattle Seahawks and the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2019, but he was not able to make it into the active rosters of either team.

He was the starting quarterback for all 12 games, throwing for 2,056 yards, nine touchdowns, and 10 interceptions while completing 203 of 349 passes. In 2014, when Lynch was a sophomore, he started every one of the team’s 13 games.

He was successful in passing the ball 259 out of 413 times, accumulating 3,031 yards, 22 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. Also, he ran the ball for 321 yards and scored 13 touchdowns.

After throwing for 306 yards and tallying four passing touchdowns in addition to three running touchdowns, Marshawn Lynch was crowned the Most Valuable Player of the 2014 Miami Beach Bowl. Lynch continued his streak of starting all 13 games as a junior in 2015.

He had a completion percentage of 66.8% on 296 of 443 passes, throwing for 3,778 yards, 28 touchdowns (setting all five school records), and four interceptions.

During Memphis’ 63–0 victory over SMU, quarterback Paxton Lynch tied an FBS record by throwing seven touchdown passes in the first half of the game.

He finished the game with a completion percentage of 9 of 14 for 222 yards, and he threw touchdown passes to seven different receivers. Following the conclusion of the season, he made the decision to bypass his senior year and instead join the 2016 NFL Draft.
