Ros Gold-Onwude had a variety of odd jobs before landing a role on television. She worked briefly at Tesla Motors after graduation before deciding to pursue a career in sports broadcasting. She worked at Nike during the summer, taught a public speaking course at Stanford, and worked as a production assistant at the school radio station. Playing Career

Ros Gold-Onwude was a basketball player at Molloy High School throughout her adolescence. She was a member of the school team that won the state championships in 2003 and 2004. Despite having to miss her senior season due to a knee injury, she graduated as the school’s second all-time top scorer as well as the all-time leader in steals and assists.

She was the first Molloy athlete to be inducted into the GCHSAA Hall of Fame in 2011. She was also the first athlete in Stanford University’s history to accept a scholarship and play Division I basketball. She was the starting point guard for Stanford’s 2005-06 team under coach Tara VanDerveer during her freshman year.
