Madhya Pradesh Government Launched Aanandam Scheme

  • Madhya Pradesh became the first State of the country where Aanandam programme has been started to help the needy persons on January 18, 2017.
  • Places have been fixed in each district where the economically sovind citizens can donate items for the needy persons under the programme.
  • Anandam has been started primarily from the district head quarters.
  • This will be launched at cities and panchayat level also. He stated clearly that Anandam programme is a voluntary programme. It is a project to bring happiness.

Kangra became First Ever District to Geo-tag All Assets under MGNREGA

  • Kangra became the first district in the country to geo-tag 100% of the assets generated under the MGNREGA on January 18, 2017.
  • It allows the workers to click photo of the asset and upload it to a ISRO-run web portal thus digitally recording its time and location.
  • It allows the ease in tracking the assets.
  • This step would help in integrated development of all sectors like agriculture, irrigation, education, health etc

Petroleum Awareness Drive ‘Saksham 2017* Launched in Nagaland

  • Petroleum awareness drive ‘Saksham 2017’ launched in Nagaland on January 16, 2017.
  • Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MOP & NG) conducted mass’ awareness drive on oil and gas conservation across the country on January 16.
  • From this year onwards the theme of the programme has been redesigned as ‘Saksham 2017’ and the programme duration has been extended to one month.

Madhya Pradesh Launched Digital Dakiya Scheme for Digital Literacy

  • Madhya Pradesh government inaugurated a first of its kind scheme of the country, ‘Digital Dakiya’ on January 14,2017 to encourage cashless transaction in the State.
  • Under the scheme, a Digital Postman referred as Digital Dakiya would visit door-to-door in both urban and rural areas to train households specially women and elderly people about digitised transactions.
  • The State government will provide Identity cards to the volunteers deployed in this programme.

Gujrat Government Launched Student Startup Innovation Policy

  • Gujarat government has launched a new Student Startup Innovation Policy for students on January 9, 2017. The government will provide financial help of Rs 200 for the innovative Ideas propose by students.
  • The Student Startup Innovation Policy aims to provide assistant to around 1000 ideas or projects in a year and will also provide legal/paper work support to students in all the universities in Gujarat State.
  • By this policy, students will work on innovative ideas that are beneficial for the society instead of their rat-race academic projects. Students can turn their Proof of Concept (PoC) into a MVC.

Gujarat Summit 2017 Concluded

  • 8th edition of Vibrant Gujarat Summit (VGS) concluded on January 13, 2017 in Gujarat.
  • It focused on a series of Business-to-Business (B2B) and Busines s – to-Govemmen t (B2G) meetings.
  • It attracted maximum interest include urban development (14 meetings), information technology (12), agriculture (11), skill development (8), AYUSH (8), clean energy (8), healthcare (7) and oil & sas (6 meetings).

9th Jaipur International Film Festival Inaugurated

  • The Jaipur International Film Festival, the world’s fastest growing film festival, is held every year in January or February in Jaipur, held on January 7, 2017.
  • The purpose of this film festival is to promote new movie makers, exchange of knowledge, information, ideas & culture between India & other nations in context of their social and cultural ethos.

Delhi Government Unveiled ‘Good Samaritan Policy’

  • Delhi government approved ‘Good Samaritan Policy’ under which monetary incentive of Rs 2000 and appreciation certificate will be given to people who help road accident victims in the national capital on January 6, 2017.
  • The scheme is intended to encourage people to take accident victims in emergency situation to hospitals so that someone’s life could be saved.
  • Mumbai had the highest number of 23468 number of road accidents during 2015 while Delhi | had the highest number of 1622 deaths due to road accidents, according to the ‘Road Accidents in India’ report unveiled in June last year by Road Transport and Highways Ministry.

Two-day Assam Biotech Conclave Began

  • The two-day Assam Biotech Conclave began in Guwahati on January 4, 2017.
  • It organised by Guwahati Biotech Park in association with industry body FINER.
  • This conclave will bring together the policy makers, Industry professionals, Investment bankers and academicians to deliberate the latest trends in this sector.
  • The condave will create business and partnering opportunities for its stakeholders and to showcase the facilities and opportunities offered by Guwahati Biotech Park.

World’s Largest Open-air Theatre Fest Started in Odisha

  • The ‘reign of King Kansa’ started with the beginning of Dhanu Yatra, world’s largest open air theatre festival, in Odisha’s Bargarh district bn January 3,2017.
  • The 11-day festival is based on Krishna Leela and Mathura Vijay. The story begins with the legendary king of Mathura, Kansa, also uncle of Lord Krishna, ascending the throne, and ends with Krishna killing Kansa.
  • During the festival, Bkrgarh becomes the dty of Mathura, the river Jeera becomes the Yamuna and Ambapali situated on the other side of Jeera becomes Gopapura.
