When Takecia and Jey were both students at Florida’s Escambia High School in Pensacola, they first met. Takecia is Jey’s high school sweetheart. It has been almost seven years since the couple exchanged vows when they got married in 2015. They have never lost their love.

After receiving training from their father, WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi, since they were infants, Jey made his debut in WWE’s developmental promotion Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) in 2009.

Later, he won the FCW Florida Tag Team Championships. The next year, he was elevated to the main roster, and since then, he has won seven tag team championships with WWE, including twice the WWE (Raw) Tag Team Championship and the Slammy Award for Tag Team of the Year in 2014 and 2015.

Three times in 2017, they won the SmackDown Tag Team Championship. A fourth reign followed in 2019 and a fifth reign in 2021. The Usos are the first group to hold the Tag Team Championships on both Raw and SmackDown.

The FCW Florida Tag Team Championship, the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship, and the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship have all only ever been won by Jey and Jimmy Uso.

He is also related to the famed Anoai wrestling family through their great-grandfather Reverend Amituana’i Anoa’i’s blood relationship with Peter Maivia, along with his father Rikishi, uncle Umaga, and the late WWE Hall of Famer Yokozuna, Roman Reigns, and The Rock.

Jey Uso: WWE RAW Debut

In May 2010, Jonathan and Joshua Fatu made their WWE RAW debut as Jimmy (Jonathan) Uso and Jey (Joshua), better known as The Usos.

The Hart Dynasty was the subject of a feud between The Uso during their early RAW appearances, but they won their first ring fight against Goldust and Mark Henry in June. The Hart Dynasty defeated The Usos in their pay-per-view debut match three days later at Fatal 4-Way.

The Usos engaged in a feud from 2011 to 2013, however despite multiple contests for tag team titles, they failed to prevail throughout this period.

The Usos won the WWE Tag Team Championships in May 2013 after defeating The New Age Outlaws on a RAW program.

They defeated the Wyatt Family, The Real Americans, Ryback and Curtis Axel, and Los Matadores to successfully defend their titles. The Usos’ reign, which lasted 202 days, came to an end when they were defeated by Goldust and Stardust at Night of Champions.
