Teemu Selanne Daughter Veera Selanne Is Already A Junior Tennis Star
Veera Selanne, Teemu Selanne’s daughter, reached the final of the Girls 14s Singles at the Calabasas National Junior Open in 2021.
Veera adores sports almost as much as her father. As a junior tennis player, she has already made a reputation for herself.
The former NHL player has found a new career as a tennis coach. Veera has been trained by her father since she was a small child.
Teemu has uploaded countless photographs and videos of his daughter practising for tennis matches on his Instagram account.
Teemu’s tweet dated 14 October 2019 showed a young Veera standing with her tennis bat and ball while her daughter took a selfie.
Selanne emphasised her daughter’s passion of tennis in that post, adding that she constantly puts in two hours of practise with no Sunday off.
Veera Selanne Turned 14 Years Old
Veera, Teemu Selanne’s daughter, is 14 years old. On December 6, 2007, she was born to her parents.
Veera’s father wrote her a sweet note on her birth anniversary, wishing her a wonderful day.
Teemu celebrated the occasion by posting a series of photos of his daughter with the message “my sweet princess is now 14.”
He went on to say that after having three great sons, 2007 was an outstanding year since he was gifted with his little princess.
Selanne also mentioned in one of his interviews that Veera needs to be pampered on occasion. Tennis has been a lifelong passion for the youngster.
Selanne also thinks that Veera is a lot like him. The character is tough and competitive.
Teemu, a retired NHL player, tries to convince his daughter that having terrible days is undesirable. There should be no excuses, even if it isn’t always a pleasant sensation.
Veera Selanne Is One Of Four Children In The Family
Teemu and Sirpa Selanne’s only child is Veera Selanne. He grew up with Eemil (26), Eetu (25), and Leevi, her three older brothers (22).
Her two brothers, Eetu and Eemil, are members of the Curry College Colonels men’s basketball team. They joined the Northeastern University Huskies men’s team as freshman in 2017.
Veera and her elder brother, Eetu, are over ten years apart in age. On Eetu’s birthday last year, she commented, “I can’t believe he’s almost 24.”
The Selanne family lives in Coto de Caza, a gated community in southern Orange County, California.

Career
Selänne spent three seasons with Jokerit in the SM-liiga before joining the NHL. The Winnipeg Jets selected him with the 10th overall choice in the 1988 NHL Entry Draft. He spent four years with the Jets. On February 6, 1996, he was dealt to the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim along with Marc Chouinard and a fourth-round draught pick in exchange for first-round draught picks Chager and Oleg Tverdovsky, as well as a third-round selection in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft.
He was teamed up with Paul Kariya. In 1997, they helped the Mighty Ducks make their first playoff berth. They defeated the Phoenix Coyotes in the first round, but were eliminated in the second round by the Detroit Red Wings.
Anaheim was last in the Western Conference in March 2001. On March 5, they dealt Selänne to the San Jose Sharks in exchange for Jeff Friesen, Steve Shields, and a second-round draught pick in 2003.
Later on, the Sharks were unable to make the playoffs. They were attempting to make changes, and the New Jersey Devils were interested in acquiring Selänne in a trade. However, because Selänne’s contract stated that he could not be traded, they were unable to reach an agreement. He would eventually sign a one-year, $5.8 million contract with the Colorado Avalanche. Former teammate Paul Kariya joined him there.
After a year, he had knee difficulties and required surgery. The 2004-05 NHL season was cancelled due to a labour dispute. He took advantage of the time to recover from his surgery. During the 2005-06 NHL season, he returned to the league.
When the season began, he was not signed by any team. He chose to sign with the Anaheim Ducks and return to Anaheim. During the 2007 Stanley Cup Finals, the Ducks defeated the Ottawa Senators in five games to win the Stanley Cup.
Selänne revealed that the 2013-14 NHL season will be his final in the league.
On May 16, 2014, he played his final NHL game as the Los Angeles Kings eliminated the Ducks from the 2014 Stanley Cup playoffs. Following the game, he skated a final lap around the rink, where he was applauded by fans, teammates, and opponents.
