Tamilnadu Slum Clearances Board AE Assistant Engineer Previous Year Question Papers

Established in 1970, this board has been implementing various projects like Housing, Slum Development and Rehabilitation and Resettlement programs to mitigate the conditions of slums in Tamil Nadu. The interesting part is the motto of this board “God we shall see in The Smile of the Poor”. This mitigation of slums was started in Chennai and then spread out to whole Tamil Nadu with a more planned manner since 1984.

The notification for the recruitment of Junior Engineer and Assistant Engineer for TNSCB  has been advertised on the official website of this board. The official website is https://www.tnscbrecruitment.in/. The advertisement can be found under the notification no 1/2016. The eligible candidates are required to submit an application online.

Note: Tamil Nadu native candidates are alone eligible to apply for these posts.

Though education qualification and age limit criteria apply differently to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and candidates from General Criteria.

Procedure of Selection TNSCB 2017

1)  Written Examination

This exam will have 100 questions and maximum of only 2 hours are allotted to all candidates. With each question carrying one mark each, the maximum marks one candidate can get is 100.

But marks will be allowed out of 85.

The pattern will have OMR sheet which means objective type question.

For the paper of Junior Engineer the MCQ will be of Diploma standard, we have provided the syllabus below. Also, these questions will be explicitly in English.

For students appearing for the assistant engineer will have questions from the undergraduate standard. This paper will have questions in English and Tamil.

To consider as a selected candidate in the first stage, students are required to score a minimum of 40 marks in MCQ.

2)  Interview

After the written examination a viva-voice interview will be conducted by the students. This personal interview will be of 15 marks.

A merit list will be prepared on the basis of both written examination and viva-voce interview of the students. In case any two students score an equal mark out of 100 in the common list, an inter-see-merit list will be created according to a priority given below.

The priority according to this list will stand finally. In both the cases in Junior Engineer and Assistant Engineer.
