Tom Stoltman: Biography

Tom Stoltman is a Scottish Strongman competitor from Invergordon. On 20 June 2021, Tom won the World’s Strongest Man competition as a representative of the United Kingdom, being the first man from Scotland to do so.

The Scotsman’s success has significance far beyond the five days of play.

Stoltman finished second behind Ukraine’s Oleksii Novikov in the World’s Strongest Man competition in 2020.

This year, Novikov did not make it to the final round, and Stoltman defeated the competition, which featured his older brother, Luke Stoltman, a five-time winner of Scotland’s Strongest Man.

The Stoltman brothers are the only siblings to have competed in the World’s Strongest Man finals. Luke finished eighth overall in this year’s competition, but Tom credits his brother for most of his success in the sport.

Stoltman led the field by 5.5 points after winning two races on the opening day of the finals, but American Brian Shaw gave Stoltman a fight for his money. Shaw threw a 15-kilogram keg over a 7.75-meter-high bar to set a new world record in the Reign Total Body Fuel Keg Toss.

Tom Stoltman was born in May 1994 to Ben and Sheila Stoltman.

The 28-year-old is fortunate to have supportive parents who have funded his travel and tournament tickets.

Shelia Stoltoman, Stoltoman’s mother, died in 2016 at the age of 56. On Facebook, he wrote, “My folks are fantastic. I do what I do because I want to make them proud. Thank you for everything, and I will always adore you.”
