You (Season 4): Who Is Sending Suspicious Messages To Joe?
At the end of the first episode of the fourth season, Joe (now going by Jonathan Moore) receives a text message on Evanesce, an app that deletes communications as soon as they have been viewed.
Jonathan Moore is the sender of the message. The first line of the message simply says “Hello, you.”1
The sender of the subsequent texts discusses how they hid Malcolm’s dead body on his table in the hope that Joe would be blamed for the murder.
But they were taken aback by the way he dealt with the circumstance, as he handled it without falling apart or being thoroughly startled by the discovery of a dead person in his apartment.
This reveals that Jonathan Moore is not the person they believed he was, and as a result, they will do further investigation into him in order to determine his true identity.
Joe can tell with absolute certainty that the individual who is messaging him is a member of Malcolm’s circle of friends. The murders began shortly after Joe was brought into the circle of people.
This presented the potential killer with the ideal chance to carry out the murder and place the blame on the newcomer.2

The murderer yearns for the company of another person who shares their passion for murder with whom they may feel a sense of brotherhood.
Rhys Confesses to the Killings
When Roald pursues Joe through the jungle, Rhys attacks them. He binds them up and compels Joe to kill Roald so that the blame for the killings can be placed on the latter. However, Rhys does not explain his actions, leaving audiences to speculate about his motivations.

Ed Speleers will be appearing as Rhys Montrose in the upcoming fourth season of You.
The British actor, now 34 years old, had his debut in the film business in the fantasy movie Eragon, which was released in 2006 and featured him in the role of the film’s titular character.
Since then, the actor, who was born in Sussex, has portrayed a variety of characters in both movies and television shows.
Some of the actor’s most prominent film performances include those in Love Bite, Alice Through the Looking Glass, Plastic, Breathe, and Against the Ice, which is available on Netflix.
In the meantime, Ed has made appearances in a number of well-known television productions, including Downton Abbey, Wolf Hall, Beowulf: Return to the Shieldlands, and Outlander, in which he plays the recurring role of Stephen Bonnet.
