SSC Stenographer Syllabus & Exam Pattern for Grade ā€˜Cā€™ & ā€˜Dā€™

Staff Selection Commission releasedĀ notification for recruiting SSC Stenographer for Grade ā€˜Cā€™ and ā€˜Dā€™. Candidate can fill the form online only. All those who havenā€™t filled up the form should complete the online registration immediately. The SSC Stenographer online examinationĀ will take place fromĀ 4th September Ā toĀ 7th September. The exam date is coming near day by day so the preparation should be well and had in order to crack this exam as the competition ids getting tougher day by day, and in order to crack this exam oneĀ  should have good knowledge of the exam pattern and the syllabus, for your easiness we have provided all the syllabus and exam pattern of this exam in details.

SSC Stenographer Exam Pattern

The SSC Stenographer selection procedure consists of two phases i.e.Ā objective type examination followed by skill test. The online objective test consists of 200 marks in 2 hours of time duration. SSC Stenographer Syllabus ā€“ General Intelligence & Reasoning

The General Intelligence and reasoning test is taken to test the mind of the candidate how sharp it its working and how fast he can tackle the things.

1. Classification

  • Weightage: 6-9 Qs
  • QuestionĀ Type: Number, Letter, GK and Meaningful Words based..

2. Analogy

  • Weightage:Ā 8-9 Qs
  • QuestionĀ Types: Number, Letter, GK and Meaningful Words, Member of a group etc.

 

3. Coding Decoding

  • Weightage: 2-3 Qs
  • QuestionĀ Types: Questions on Coding by Analogy, Coding and decoding by letter shifting, Coding on Letters of a Word, could include operations on place values.

4. Puzzle

  • Weightage:Ā 4-6 Qs
  • QuestionĀ Types:Puzzles based on mathematical operations, coded logics etc. Also, there is a possibility that some questions on seating arrangement can be asked.

  • QuestionĀ Types:1 or 2 Matrix of letters with numbers are given from which correct set of numbers for given word is to find out.

7. Arranging Words in Logical Order or Dictionary Order

  • Weightage: 3-5 Qs
  • QuestionĀ Types: It can be meaningful order of doing a certain task, or following a certain rule. In dictionary order words are to be arranged according to dictionary sequence in ascending or descending order.

8. Venn diagram

  • Weightage: 3-4 Qs
  • QuestionĀ Types: Problems based on Venn Diagram representing the relation between different entities.

  • QuestionTypes: Simple problems that can be solved by just drawing all information on paper.

11. Series

  • Weightage: 5-7 Qs
  • QuestionĀ Types:Ā Complete the series, find the missing number or wrong number in the given number/alphabet/mixed series. Also, Qs are based on missing number in diagram & matrix.

12. Order & Ranking

  • Weightage: 1-3 Qs
  • QuestionĀ Types: Find the position of a person sitting in a line from the left/right or number of people sitting between the two persons.

13. Non Verbal Reasoning

  • Weightage: 6-8 Qs
  • QuestionĀ Types:Complete the pattern, Assemble the Image, Mirror Image, Hidden Image, Paper Folding & Cutting, Cubes & Dices.

SSC Stenographer Syllabus ā€“ English Language

The section consists of total 100 marks.Ā The various topics expected in the English language are:

1. Reading Comprehension

  • Weightage: 15 Qs (3 passage each consisting of 5 Marks)
  • QuestionĀ Types: Passages based on any topic.Ā Questions are mostly fact based & can be directly picked out of the passage.

2. Cloze Test

  • Weightage: 20 Qs (2 Sets)
  • QuestionĀ Types: A paragraph will be given & you have to fill the blank which goes with the syntax of the paragraph. The paragraph will be based on the social issue, general issue & some vocab based questions will be asked.

3. Synonyms & Antonyms

  • Weightage: 10 Qs
  • QuestionĀ Types: You have to find the synonyms & antonyms of the given word.
  • Level:Scoring, High Accuracy Possible

4. Fill in the Blanks

  • Weightage: 2-4 Qs
  • QuestionĀ Types: A mix of grammar and vocabulary based questions on phrasal verbs, conjunctions, prepositions, tenses, usage in context, confusable words

  • Weightage: 0-2 Qs
  • QuestionĀ Types: Choose the correctly spelt word or the misspelt word from different words. The same word can be spelt in different ways and you are asked to select the correct spelling.

6. Phrase and Idiom Meaning

  • Weightage: 5 Qs
  • QuestionĀ Types: The meaning of the phrase or idiom can be asked in a sentence. The meaning can also be asked directly.

The General Awareness section comprises of 50 marks. It involves the questions related to day today happening & events. To prepare well for this you need to be in touch with the news. The various topics that are covered under the SSC Stenographer G.K Syllabus are:
