Formerly M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT), RIT is an autonomous private engineering college in Bangalore, Karnataka. The college is affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University with its headquarters at Belgaum, Karnataka, India. It was established in 1962 and became academically autonomous for both Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programs in 2007. Through VTU, RTI offers Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Architecture, Master of Technology, and Master of Business Administration. Not to mention, programs leading to award of PhD in various disciplines.

RIT offers Bachelor of Engineering(BE) and Bachelor of Architecture (BArch) at the Undergraduate level. The Program is of 4 years and is offered in twelve different branches. Rashtreeya Vidyalaya College of Engineering is also known as RVCE or R.V. College of Engineering, Rāshtrīya Vidyālaya Tāntrika Mahāvidyālaya. It is a private technical co-educational college located in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. The annual festival of the college is called 8th Mile which is the most awaited event in the annual calendar. The students of RVCE operate many student projects, most notable being the ones supported by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), and the ones which participate in the competitions conducted by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE).

The merit in the Karnataka CET test or COMED-K undergraduate test is the basis of admission to undergraduate courses. The merit requirements don’t matter when admission is taken through management quota. Also, a lateral entry scheme is in place, by which students holding diploma degrees can enter directly to the second year undergraduate degree. Students, upon graduating, receive a Bachelor of Engineering or a Bachelor of Architecture degree at undergraduate level.

For admission to postgraduate courses, GATE test scores, as well as on their Post Graduate Karnataka CET scores are taken into account. As, all the departments have been conferred autonomous status and thus they set their own course content and grading system. RVCE follows the credit-based system of performance evaluation, with proportional weighting of courses based on their importance. The total marks (usually out of 100) form the basis of grades, with a grade value (out of 10) assigned to a range of marks. For each semester, the students are graded by taking a weighted average from all the courses with their respective credit points. Each semester’s evaluation is done independently with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) reflecting the average performance across semesters. The medium of instruction is English.

B.M.S. College of Engineering (BMSCE) is an autonomous engineering college in Basavanagudi, Bangalore, India. It is one of the top Engineering college in Bangalore, India. The college was founded in 1946 by B. M. Sreenivasaiah and it was the first private sector initiative in technical education in India. The college is run by the BMS Educational Trust. It was affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University from 1998 to 2008, and became autonomous in 2008.

Though a private engineering college, it is partially funded by the Government of Karnataka. The various departments at BMSCE offer four year undergraduate courses in engineering. All of the undergraduate courses have been conferred autonomous status by the Visvesvaraya Technological University. The campus has eight main buildings which include the Library, the Classroom Block, the Mechanical & Architecture Block, Computer Science/Information Science/Telecommunication/Electronics departments block, the Administrative Block and the Sports Complex, the Science Block and the Post-Graduate Block. Rama Nagappa Shetty Institute of Technology (RNSIT) was established in the year 2001 and is the brainchild of the Group Chairman, Dr. R.N. Shetty. Several educational institutions are run by the R. Seat matrix are announced indicating seats available in different colleges in different branches based on the sanctioned intake.Admissions are made according to merit, subject to reservations to various categories. Students called for counseling on a particular day will be announced on previous day in leading newspapers.On the day of counseling, when his/her turn comes, he/she can choose the college and branch based on the vacancy position displayed online.

Students also get the opportunity to change the branch/college only once before the end of admission and this is final. Change of branch: As per the VTU regulations, change of branch is permitted only at the beginning of 3rd semester provided vacancy exists. The change of branch is done according to prescribed regulations and is subject to approval by Director of Technical Education and the University.
