Aaron Glenn: Biography

Aaron Devone Glenn is a former American collegiate and professional football player who played cornerback for fifteen seasons in the National Football League (NFL).

Glenn was born on July 16, 1972, and is a native of the United States. He won All-American honors during his collegiate football career at Texas A&M University, where he also played.

His professional football career began with the New York Jets, who selected him in the first round of the 1994 NFL Draft.

He went on to play for the Houston Texans, Dallas Cowboys, Jacksonville Jaguars, and New Orleans Saints, all of whom are members of the National Football League.

He was selected for the Pro Bowl three times and earned All-Pro honors three times.

Aaron was born and raised in the state of Texas, and he received his undergraduate education in Business Management at Texas A&M University.

Devaney is managing her husband Glenn’s three retail establishments that they own together.

After Aaron had spent two years with the New York Jets, the couple tied the knot, and Devaney has been nothing but encouraging of her husband’s endeavors in the world of entrepreneurship.

When Glenn was a child, his mother encouraged him to dream big and always assured him that he would one day own a prosperous business of his own.

Aaron’s new contract with the Texans was worth an additional $26 million, so he never had to stress about money again, but he was extremely interested in developing his business skills.

Glenn, along with his business partner Devaney and two other friends, participated in a round of idea generation for their company. After much deliberation, they decided that the wireless market had the most promising opportunities for them to pursue.

In the end, they decided to go with the Cingular company, where Aaron is employed and has a hand in all three of the company’s locations.

Aaron Glenn: Childhood And Early Life

Glenn was born in Humble, Texas, in the United States. He participated in the Humble Area Football League during his childhood football career.

He received a letter of recognition for his four years of participation on the Nimitz Cougars high school football team while he was a student at Nimitz High School in Houston, Texas.

As a senior, he finished with more than 1,000 yards gained on the ground, more than 200 yards gained through receptions, and seven interceptions. In addition, he earned letters in track and basketball.

  • Glenn attended Navarro College for his first semester of college back in 1990. Following two outstanding years at his junior college, during which he was named to the Junior College All-American team, Glenn decided to continue his collegiate playing career at Texas A&M.
  • During the 1992 and 1993 school years, Glenn was a member of the Texas A&M University football team.
  • During his time with the Aggies, he proceeded to rack up honours, including Southwest Conference Newcomer of the Year (1992) and consensus first team All-American (1993).
  • After graduating from college, he entered the draft and was selected first overall by the New York Jets.

  • In 1994, Glenn started his professional football career with the New York Jets.
  • During his time with the Jets, Glenn was able to achieve a great deal of success, and he was named to the All-Pro team not once but twice (1997-1998).
  • However, following the conclusion of the 2001 season, he was selected in the 2002 Expansion Draft by the Houston Texans, who were the league’s most recent expansion franchise.
  • Following his trade to the Texans, where he was reunited with former colleagues Marcus Coleman and Ryan Young, Glenn quickly became the player with the longest tenure in the franchise’s early years.
  • After the 2002 season, he became the first player in Texans’ history to be named to the All-Pro team, in addition to holding the record for most years with the team.
  • However, following the conclusion of the 2004 campaign, the Texans decided to let him go.
  • After his time with the Texans, he joined the Dallas Cowboys, where he worked under the direction of Bill Parcells, his former head coach with the Jets. On the other hand, he would not be the same player he was when playing for the Jets.
  • During his two years with the Cowboys, he participated in all 32 games, but he was only given the starting nod in 16 of those contests.
  • After spending the previous two seasons with the Cowboys, the Jacksonville Jaguars decided they needed additional depth in their secondary and signed Glenn in 2007.
  • Only five of the Jaguars’ 16 games were played with him on the field, and he started four of those games as the team ended 11-5 and qualified for the playoffs as a wild card.
  • Following the conclusion of his season with the Jaguars, he joined the New Orleans Saints as a free agent and signed a deal for the 2008 season. He was brought in to add depth, but injuries prevented him from finishing the season in a healthy state.

  • After initially suffering an ankle injury during the second week of the season, he then suffered a second ankle injury and was sidelined for the remainder of the season after Week 10.
  • Following the conclusion of his season with the Saints, he intends to end his career in professional football.
  • After taking some time away from the sport, he made his comeback to professional football with the Houston Stallions of the Lone Star Football League. During the 2012 campaign, he served as the team’s General Manager.
  • Even though they were off to a perfect start (7-0), the team decided to stop playing during the season.
  • Glenn returned to the National Football League in 2012 with the New York Jets, this time serving as a Pro-Personnel Scout for the team rather than playing for the Stallions.
  • After serving in this capacity for one year, he was promoted within the organization to the position of college area scout. The regions of the Rocky Mountains and the Southwest were the ones that Glenn concentrated on the most.
  • Glenn accepted a position with the Cleveland Browns as an assistant defensive backs coach for the 2014 season when Mike Pettine was hired as the head coach of the Cleveland Browns. Pettine had been the defensive coordinator for the New York Jets.
  • The squad had a solid start to the season, but they struggled in the latter games and closed the year with a five-game losing streak, finishing the season with a record of 7-9.
