Awer Mabil, the professional soccer player’s younger sister Bor Mabil, was killed in a car accident. Bor was only 19 years old when she died.

Awer Mabil’s Sister Bor Mabil: Who Was She?
Awer Mabil had a sister named Bor Mabil, who died in a car accident on Australia Day in 2019 when she was only 19 years old.
Bor was in the car with her lover, Akol Akol, a street-racing driver, when the accident occurred, and she was not wearing a seatbelt. As a result, she sustained a serious brain injury and had to close her eyes for the rest of her life at the scene.
Akol was speeding to a party with a blood-alcohol level of 0.22 and a tiny amount of MDMA in his system when his automobile collided at Andrews Farm. When the driver lost control of his vehicle, it rolled onto its side, skidded 50 metres, and collided with a fence, a tree, and a lamp post.
Despite telling the South Australian District Court that he wished to go back in time and confront himself, he was sentenced to three years and one month in prison. Furthermore, his non-parole time was two years and one month, according to Deanna Williams.
Awer Mabil’s Family History and Upbringing
On September 15, 1995, the soccer player was born in a refugee camp in Kenya to South Sudanese parents.
Mabil spent his childhood in a hut with his family in the Kakuma Refugee Camp till the age of ten. After the civil conflict in their home country showed no prospects of ending, the Mabil family migrated to Australia and settled in Adelaide in 2006.
Because he couldn’t speak English, the footballer struggled to communicate with his classmates at first. As a result, football became his saviour, allowing him to connect with others.
Back in the refugee camp, Awer and his pals had played soccer barefoot with balls made of plastic bags, clothing, and balloons. Furthermore, he is fortunate to be able to exercise with decent balls and has not lost his roots or where he comes from.

Awer Mabil Is The Youngest Of Three Brothers
Awer has two younger brothers, Dau and Deng, as well as an elder brother named Awer G. Bul. He adores his sibling and spends a lot of time with them.
The sportsman is particularly close to his younger brother Dau, who was born in 2013 and will turn nine on April 13, 2022. Similarly, Deng’s birthday is December 9th each year, and his zodiac sign is Sagittarius.
Bul is the director of Barefoot to Boots, a non-governmental organisation he founded with the soccer player following their trip to Kakuma. The brothers formed Barefoot to Boots to improve refugee health, education, and equality.

2018
Mabil made his senior Australian debut against Kuwait in an international friendly match at the Al Kuwait Sports Club Stadium on October 16, 2018. Mabil came on as a second-half substitute for Mathew Leckie and scored his first senior national team goal in the 88th minute to secure Australia a 4-0 win over Kuwait in Graham Arnold’s first match of his second term with the Australian national team. Tomi Juric and Thomas Deng assisted on Mabil’s goal.
Mabil’s goal was celebrated with Deng, a boyhood friend and fellow South Sudanese immigrant who was also making his international debut for Australia. Awer later dedicated the goal to his mother.
2017
Mabil was loaned to Paços de Ferreira in July 2017 to give him more first-team opportunity. Paços de Ferreira were relegated at the end of the 2017-18 Primeira Liga season, but Mabil impressed on loan, scoring twice and assisting three times in 26 league outings.
2016
Mabil was loaned to Esbjerg fB in August 2016 to receive more game time and grow. Mabil made his debut on August 8, 2016, against AGF, but was sent off in the 44th minute. Esbjerg was relegated to Denmark’s first division, and the club stated that Mabil was one of nine players who would be leaving.
2015
Mabil moved to Danish Superliga team FC Midtjylland in July 2015 for a rumoured sum in excess of AU$1,300,000. Awer Mabil made his Danish Superliga debut for FC Midtjylland on October 16, 2015, as an 83rd-minute substitute for Daniel Royer against Randers FC at the MCH Arena in Herning.
Mabil made his UEFA Europa League debut against Napoli on 22 October 2015, replacing Mikkel Duelund in the 73rd minute.
2014
After a year-long process to get a birth certificate and secure exemption from FIFA eligibility restrictions, he was authorised to play for Australia in March 2014.
He played in all three of Australia’s games at the 2014 AFC U-19 Championship, against Uzbekistan, the United Arab Emirates, and Indonesia.

Mabil, who was born in Kenya, spent his junior footballing days at the South Australian National Training Centre and with Adelaide United. He made his senior debut for Campbelltown City before joining Adelaide United in the A-League in 2013.
Mabil was signed by Adelaide United in the A-League in 2012 from Campbelltown City in the FFSA National Premier League following a number of performances in the FFSA National Premier League demonstrating his pace and dribbling ability to fool numerous defenders. Mabil made his senior debut for Adelaide United against Perth Glory on 11 January 2013 in the 2012-13 A-League. After coming on as a substitute in the second half of a 2-1 away loss to Wellington Phoenix in Round 17 of the 2013-14 A-League season, he scored his first goal.
Mabil was called up by Australia for the COTIF Tournament at L’Alcdia, Spain, in August 2013. The FFA used the competition to prepare players for their successful AFC U-19 Championship qualification campaign in 2014.

Mabil was born in Kakuma, northeastern Kenya, to South Sudanese parents. His family and he lived in the Kakuma Refugee Camp until 2006, when they relocated to Australia. He began playing football at the camp when he was about five years old, stating: “We’d just go outside and start kicking things around. It wasn’t organized, and there wasn’t much else to do.”
