In just three days, the friends of Ghey were able to gather £70,000 for her family through a GoFundMe campaign they organized.

According to a story in the Miami Herald, dozens of members of the LGBTQ community and users of social media were expressing their sorrow over the fatal stabbing of Ghey.

Stonewall, an organization that supports LGBT rights, and Mermaids, an organization that supports transgender youngsters, have both extended their condolences to Ghey’s family.

It is highly likely that Ghey will be listed as the incorrect gender on her death certificate because of rules in the United Kingdom that make it illegal for minors to get a gender recognition certificate.

According to a piece written by an attorney for civil rights in the United States named Alejandra Caraballo, “The gender recognition act that the gender criticals keep fighting, with horrific, demonizing language, means that Brianna Ghey’s death certificate cannot list her gender as female.”

As a final slap in the face, the English government has decided to incorrectly identify her gender after her passing.

Twitter campaigns demanded that the government award Ghey a certificate recognizing her gender “so that she can have the dignity in death that everyone else in our world takes for granted.”

Yungblud, Big Joanie, and Reverend and the Makers are just a few of the musical acts that took to Twitter to express their shock, sadness, and solidarity.

In the week following Ghey’s passing, vigils with candlelight were conducted all around the United Kingdom as well as in Dublin, which is located in Ireland. The number of people present at many of these vigils ranged anywhere from the hundreds to the thousands.

Gaydio, a radio station with a focus on the LGBTQ community, recently made the announcement that it had joined forces with other LGBTQ radio stations in the United Kingdom to broadcast a minute of silence on February 17 at 11 o’clock in the morning.

The moment of silence would be followed by a feature that would be launched by a transgender presenter named Stephanie Hirst. In this feature, Hirst would pay respect to Ghey while also reflecting on the injustice and violence that transgender people frequently face in society.

The police who are looking into the murder of Brianna Ghey, who was only 16 years old, have stated that they are now evaluating the possibility that it was motivated by bias.4

On Saturday, a schoolgirl with stab wounds was discovered laying on a path at Linear Park in Culcheth, Cheshire. The park is located in the county of Cheshire.

The headteacher at Brianna’s school, Birchwood Community High School, Emma Mills, reacted to the news of Brianna’s passing as follows: “We are surprised and really devastated to hear of her loss.”

“This is clearly a very sad and distressing moment for many people, and we will do everything in our power to support both our students and the larger school community,”

Damian Harry, whose kids knew Brianna, commented that they were “in amazement” and that they had been left “needing to take pills for stress.”

He went on to say that Brianna “was simply a gorgeous young girl who, like my children, was pretty involved on social media. They were just in each other’s worlds.”

“Our thoughts are with the loved ones of Brianna Ghey, a trans adolescent who was killed in Cheshire last weekend,” the charity Mermaids, which helps trans and gender diverse children, young people, and families, said in a statement. “Our thoughts are with the loved ones of Brianna Ghey.”

GoFuneMe Fundraising Started For Brianna Ghey’s Family

The amount of money raised through a GoFundMe campaign for the family of a young woman whose body was discovered stabbed to death in a park on Saturday has surpassed the threshold of seventy thousand pounds.
