Chubba Purdy appeared in six games for Nebraska, making one start. He ran 24 times for 73 yards and two scores while completing 22 of 48 throws for 147 yards.
Purdy made his Husker debut against No. 6 Oklahoma, directing one of NU’s two touchdown drives. Purdy completed 7-of-11 throws for 35 yards and ran five times for 29 yards, including an eight-yard touchdown, against the Sooners.
In addition, he led one drive against Indiana. Purdy tried one throw and ran for two yards against Rutgers. Purdy completed 3-of-8 passes for 15 yards in the second half against No. 17 Illinois.
The next week, he started against Minnesota, accumulating 65 yards of total offense, scoring a rushing touchdown, and guiding Nebraska to 10 first-quarter points. Purdy started for the second week in a row at No. 3 Michigan, and despite being taken out of the game late in the first half with a season-ending injury, he was Nebraska’s highest rusher and passer. Purdy completed 6-of-12 passes for 56 yards and ran five times for 39 yards against the Wolverines.
Before Nebraska
Purdy joined Nebraska after two seasons at Florida State (2020-21). Also, Purdy appeared in four games for the Seminoles, making one start.
He made three appearances as a true freshman in 2020. On the season, he completed 27 of 53 passes for 219 yards and two touchdowns while rushing 19 times for 57 yards. Purdy started at North Carolina State, becoming only the fifth true freshman quarterback in Florida State history to do so. In his lone start for the Seminoles, he had 235 yards and two touchdowns.
Also, Purdy redshirted in 2021, making one appearance against UMass and completed 5-of-5 passes for 98 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing once for five yards.
He was a four-star prospect at Perry High School in Arizona, where he was ranked as the nation’s No. 6 dual-threat quarterback by 247Sports. Purdy led Perry to 9,000 yards of total offense and 111 touchdowns in two seasons.
Purdy earned the Arizona Offensive Player of the Year as a senior, with 4,423 yards of offense and 52 touchdowns. He rushed for 1,152 yards and 23 touchdowns as a junior while passing for 3,425 yards and 36 touchdowns.

Chubba Purdy was born on July 30, 2001, to Shawn and Carrie Purdy. He is pursuing a degree in child, youth, and family studies. Brock, his older brother, was a two-time All-Big 12 quarterback at Iowa State from 2018 to 2021, setting Cyclone career records for passing yards and total offense.
Shawn, Chubba’s father, played baseball at the University of Miami and in the minor leagues.
