BRICS Urbanisation Forum Meet Held in Vizag
• Third BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) Urbanisation Forum Meet with the theme— “Building responsive, inclusive and collective solutions for urbanisation” held on September 15, 2016.
• The conference discussed how to increase the productivity, how to make a separate urban finance system and creation of employment opportunities. Vizag Declaration will be prepared, which would play a vital role in the Ministers.
ASEAN Summit 2016 Held
• The 28th and 29th Association of South-East’ Asian Nations (ASEAN) summits held in Vientiane, Laos, on September 9, 2016.
• This year’s theme is Turning vision into reality for a dynamic ASEAN community, where leaders talked about important issues currently facing the South-East Asian region.
• Topics such as South China sea disputes, counter- 1 terrorism, trade and human rights were on the top 1 of agenda.
G20 Summit Held in China
• The G20, or Group of 20, is an international meeting between heads of States, Finance Ministers and Central bank Governors from the world’s leading economies held from September 4-5, 2016 in Hangzhou (China).
• It is the first to be hosted in China and only the second-ever in Asia. G20 was founded in 1999 to give developing countries a more powerful voice in the global economy, the summit brings together industrialised and emerging economies.
• The group makes up 85% of the world’s GDP and two-thirds of its population. When it was first | started, only Finance Ministers and Central bank Governors met at G20 summits, The theme of this year’s summit was “Towards an innovative, invigorated, interconnected and inclusive world economy”.
• The leaders- adopted a communique focusing on strengthening the G20 growth agenda, pursuing innovative growth concepts and policies, building an open world economy and ensuring that economic growth benefits all countries and people.
