He was born on April 30, 1999. On June 27, 2021, Harrison showed his greatest performance in the long jump in the high jump, which enabled him to qualify for the Olympic Trials that would be held in the United States.

On the 12th of March 2021, he established a new personal record in the high jump with a distance of 2:30 meters and a new long jump record of 8.45 meters at the Indoor Track & Field Championships.

This record is significant in history because, prior to this, no one had ever set a record in both the high jump and the long jump at the same time.

Dennis Anthony Blake, JuVaughn Harrison’s father, is a former Jamaican sprinter who is now retired.

The Summer Olympics in 1992, the Pan American Games in 1995, and the Summer Olympics in 1996 were among the international competitions in which Dennis participated.

At the Summer Olympics held in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1996, he won two bronze medals, one from each of the Olympic competitions.

Dennis was a talented athlete who excelled at sprinting. As a result of his athleticism and success in the event, he was granted a scholarship to attend Blinn Junior College in Texas for a period of two years.

Georgia Harrison competed at Alabama A&M University in the events of the 100-meter dash and the 100-meter hurdles.

As a result of her accomplishments and dedication, the Alabama A&M University Hall of Fame elected her a member in the year 2014.

During her time in Jamaica, she was an exceptional athlete, particularly in the sports of hurdling and running, and she even competed in a number of sporting competitions.

She received an offer of a track scholarship from Alabama A&M University as a result of her strong performance in athletic competition.

The 30th of April, 1999 saw the arrival of JuVaughn Krishna Harrison into the world in Huntsville, Alabama. He was born to Jamaican parents who chose a different course in life.

His mother is Georgia Harrison, and neither of his parents excelled in jumping competitions.

Instead, they were both successful in track and field sports. His younger brother Ky-Mani Harrison currently attends LSU, where he studies sports management.

His mother competed in track at Alabama A&M and was honored with induction into the Alabama A&M Athletics Hall of Fame in the year 2014.

JuVaughn received his education from Columbia High School and then continued his studies at Louisiana State University.

Because he broke the seven-foot barrier on four separate occasions while competing for Columbia High School in his final year of high school, he is considered to be one of the most promising high jump prospects in the Class of 2017 in the United States.

With an indoor personal best of 7 feet, 0 14 inches, he was awarded the silver medal in the high jump competition at the 2017 New Balance Indoor Nationals, which took place at The Armory in New York City.

It was announced that he was the highest ranked high jumper in the Class of 2017 in the United States for the 2017 indoor season.

In the course of his senior year competing indoors, he also finished in a tie for second place across all classifications in the United States. During his high school career in Alabama at Columbia High School, he won the state championship an astounding eight times.

During the 2016–2017 school year, he was honored as the Huntsville Region Boys Athlete of the Year by AL.com and as the Huntsville Metro Coaches Association Track & Field Athlete of the Year by the Huntsville Metro Coaches Association.

He was undefeated in the high jump and the long jump at the 2017 AHSAA Class 6A Indoor State Championships, both of which he competed in during his senior year.

JuVaughn Harrison: Olympic Games of 2020 in Tokyo

On August 2, JaVaughn competed in the final round of the long jump event at the Tokyo Olympic Games 2020. He finished in fifth place with an 8.15-meter long jump and earned a medal.

M. Tentoglour emerged victorious in the championship match. On August 1, JaVaughn competed in the final round of the high jump competition and finished in seventh place.

Harrison achieved personal bests in the high jump of 7 feet 2 inches and the long jump of 23 feet 0.5 inches while he was a student in high school.

Harrison set personal records in the high jump with 2.30 meters and in the long jump with 8.45 meters on March 12, 2021 in Fayetteville, Arkansas, on the occasion of the 2021 NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships.

As a result, Harrison became the first man in history capable of jumping at least 8.40 meters in the long jump and 2.30 meters in the high jump.

At the Olympic Trials for the United States National Team that were held in Eugene, Oregon, on June 27, 2021, Harrison won both the long jump and the high jump.

At the Summer Olympics in 2020, he made history by becoming the first American male athlete since Jim Thorpe in 1912 to compete in both the long jump and the high jump at an Olympic competition.

After Harrison finished competing in the 2020 Olympic Trials, he secured a contract to compete professionally with Puma.

At the Summer Olympics in 2020, Harrison finished in fifth place in the long jump and in seventh place in the high jump.
