Kagiso Rabada made his T20 International debut against Australia on November 5, 2014. He made his one-day international debut against Bangladesh on July 10, 2015. Rabada became only the second player in ODI history to record a hat-trick (three consecutive wickets).

He made his Test debut against India on November 5, 2015. As a result, he was chosen to play against England during the 2015-16 tour.
