Nicole Kidman and Jamie Lee Curtis to Co-Star in Kay Scarpetta Series Adaptation

Nicole Kidman and Jamie Lee Curtis are going to work together on an Amazon series based on the popular Kay Scarpetta books by Patricia Cornwell.

Variety was the first to report the news, and they said that Amazon wouldn’t say anything about the project.

But that could mean that Prime Video isn’t ready to talk about the project yet.

Variety says that details of the contract are still being worked out and that the 16 episodes will be spread out over two seasons.

Having Kidman and Curtis work together should be a match made in TV heaven.

Kidman is in talks to play the main character, Kay, and Curtis will play her sister, Dorothy.

Liz Sarnoff is going to write the show and be the showrunner and executive producer.

Kidman and Per Saari will serve as executive producers through Blossom Films, and Curtis will do the same through Comet Pictures.

Jason Blum, Chris McCumber, and Jeremy Gold, all of Blumhouse Television, also serve as executive producers.

In June 2021, it was announced that Jamie Lee Curtis and Blumhouse were working together to turn the popular book series into a TV show.

Curtis said at the time, “Patricia Cornwell is a real literary trailblazer, and it’s exciting to work with her to bring her beloved character Kay Scarpetta to life through TV and introduce her to a whole new audience.”
