In December of 2022, according to an affidavit that was obtained by Channel 2 Action News, police claimed that rapper Playboi Carti had choked his pregnant fiancée.2
As a result, he was booked on felony charges and placed in jail.
The woman reportedly informed the police that she went to the residence located at 3750 Tuxedo Road NW in Atlanta because she was 14 weeks pregnant and wanted to talk to Playboi Carti, whose actual name is Jordan Carter, about their baby and a paternity test.
She said that Carter turned the conversation into a physical altercation when he attacked her by holding her by the throat and shoving her into the bushes outside the house.
The victim reported that she was having trouble breathing and felt she was going to pass away.
She also reported to the police that there were two other guys there at the residence, but they took no action to stop the fight despite being present.
According to the affidavit, another female witness intervened in the altercation and attempted to separate the two parties, but Carter continued to grip the victim by the neck.
The victim was eventually able to get free and got into her car, where she said that Carter entered and attacked her again. Eventually, the victim was about to get free.
She claims that Carter attempted to pull her out of the car and put his palm over her mouth while she was phoning the police for assistance. She says this happened while she was contacting the police.
The victim was found to have apparent injuries to the areas of her neck, chest, and back, as reported by the police in the affidavit.
