According to AFP, social workers are supposed to have a conversation with the family before the meeting actually takes place.
The authorities have not provided any information regarding the meeting’s scheduled time, instead stating that “the timeframe… will be guided by the level of preparedness by all participants.”

Before that night, Oscar Pistorius was merely a wealthy and beloved star. In fact, the annual poll conducted by Heat magazine found that he was the most popular celebrity in the country in 2011. Therefore, he was not immediately suspected of being a potential killer who was hiding in plain sight. Despite the fact that he lived in a gated community, he maintained a firearm in the house for self-defense due to the notoriously high rate of violent crime in South Africa.
It was clear who was responsible for Steenkamp’s death, when it occurred, and how it occurred; the only question that remained was “why?” Finding out the answer to this question would determine everything.
Unfortunately, the situation was one of “he said,” and “who knows?” Pistorius’s girlfriend was the only other person who could truly testify to what took place in those final moments before he pulled the trigger, but she passed away shortly after the shooting.
