RAILWAY PROTECTION FORCE (RPF) SUB INSPECTOR (SI) EXAM Previous Year Question and Sample Model Paper

Railway protection force and sub inspector post has been announced by Indian railways for the protection of railway passengers, passenger area and railway properties. Ministry of railways (Indian) has the authority of the force. About 65,000 is the strength of this force. Earlier the force was originated from “watch and ward” which functioned under the railway administration’s administrative control. Later the force was renamed as railway protection force and the officers were allowed to arrest for unlawful act in possession of railway property without warrant. The main objectives of these exam are to act as a link between the govt police and the railway administrative, co-operate with other departments for improving the efficiency and image of railway. The selection of the candidates will be done by computer-based test, physical measurement, physical efficiency test and document verifications. The applicants must not be less than 20 years or more than 25 years. The age will be acknowledged as per the matriculation certificate.

RPF SI EXAM PATTERN: –

The candidates can apply through online registration procedure. The interested candidates must be graduates from a recognized university will be valid. If the candidate is waiting for the publishing of the results then they should not apply.

RPF SI SELECTION PROCEDURE: –

For the aspirants the selection procedure will be carried out in 3 phases. In the 1^st phase generally computer-based exam will be held in which the exam will be conducted in different venues as per the applicant’s selection. In this exam the candidate has to score minimum 35% (30% SC/ST candidates) to qualify the round. Depending on the performance the candidates will be selected for the next phase. In the 2^nd phase physical measurement and physical ability test will be done in which the candidates physical fitness and their physic will be measured. Depending on their capability to perform the task and maintenance of their body the candidates will be selected. After clearing the 2^nd round the candidates will be observed in the 3^rd phase where document verification will be done in which generally the availability of the required documents along with its authentication will be checked to avoid any further conspiracy.

RPF SI Exam PREVIOUS YEAR Question PAPERS:-

For the selection procedure generally, the computer-based exam is carried out in which it is generally divided into 3 parts. The 3 parts are general awareness, arithmetic, general intelligence and reasoning carrying 50,35,35 marks respectively. The total no of question is 120 for 90 minutes. The questions asked will be objective and each question carries 1 mark. The candidate can opt for 1 language from Hindi, English, Malayalam, kannada, Marathi, Gujurathi, Odiya, Bengali, Punjabi, Urdu, Tamil, Telegu, Konkani, Manipuri and assamese to attend the exam. There is a negative marking like -1 for 3 wrong questions. In the general awareness the questions will be from basic GK, everyday science, political knowledge, economics, national and international institution or organization and others. For arithmetic section the questions are generally asked from interest, profit loss, percentage, whole system and others. In the general intelligence and reasoning section questions from analogue, relationship concept, decision making, judgment and others are basically asked. In the 2^nd phase of physical efficiency test various events is performed along with a cut off time for the assessment of the candidates like 1600 meters, 800 meters, high jump and long jump are given as task. For 1600 and 800 meters 1 chance is given to the candidate where as for long jump and high jump 2 chances are given to the candidate. In the physical measurement test the height of the candidate and the chest(male) is measured. In the 3^rd phase of document verification of the candidates will be done. If a candidate is unable to produce the required documents then the candidate will not be considered as a finalist irrespective of their good performance in the previous phases. If 2 candidates will have similar marks the candidate with more age will be given priority. The selected candidates will then undergo medical tests after which they can be appointed for the post. Fulfilling all the above criteria’s a candidate can get the job post. With proper determination and a good physical body an aspirant can get the job position.
