Microsoft Launched ‘Windows 10’
- The CEO of Microsoft Satya Nadella launched Windows 10 in Kenya on July 29, 2015.
- The long-awaited Windows 10 would be available to computers and tablets in 190 nations all over the world.
- Windows 10 is armed with new innovative features like Cortana, an Xbox app and Microsoft Edge. Windows 10 is considered as the most secure Windows ever.
- It will deliver service and keep automatically up-to-date with innovations and security updates.
- Windows 10 upgradation is very easy for customers running a genuine Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 PC or tablet.
South Korea Declared End to MERS Outbreak
- South Korea declared the effective end to a deadly outbreak of Middle-East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) on July 28, 2015 that killed 36 people, triggered widespread panic and stymied growth in Asia’s fourth-largest economy.
- World Health Organisation (WHO) standards call for a four-week waiting period after the last MERS patient fully recovers, before declaring the outbreak definitively over.
- It was discovered in 2012 and was mostly centred in Saudi Arabia.
- The virus of MERS is considered deadlier but less infectious cousin of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS), which killed hundreds of people when it appeared in Asia in 2003.
World’s First Malaria Vaccine Approved from EU Regulators
- Mosquirix, world’s first malaria vaccine got a green light from European drugs regulators on July 24, 2015.
- The regulators recommended that it should be licensed for use in babies in Africa at risk of the mosquito-borne disease.
- The vaccine is developed by British drugmaker GlaxoSmithKline in partnership with the PATH Malaria Vaccine Initiative. It would be the first licensed human vaccine against a parasitic disease and could help prevent millions of cases of malaria in countries that use it.
- Malaria killed an estimated 584000 people in 2013, the vast majority of them in sub-Saharan Africa. More than 80% of malaria deaths are in children under the age of five.
- Mosquirix now be assessed by the World Health Organisation (WHO), then only WHO give its guidance on when and where it should be used before the end of 2015.

Discovery of a New Class of Particles at the Large Hadron Collider
- The Large Hadron Collider beauty (LHCb) experiment at CERN the European Organisation for Nuclear Research has reported the discovery of a new class of particles known as pentaquarks.
- The discovery was made by the scientist’s after watching the decaying of a subatomic type particle known as the Lambda B baryon. The findings was reported to the journal Physical Review Letters on July 14, 2015.
- The pentaquark is not just any new particle. It represents a way to aggregate quarks, namely the fundamental constituents of ordinary protons and neutrons in a pattern. This kind of observation has never been done before in over 50 years of experimental searches.
